    supposidly it will be minus 15 Celsius here this weekend, so whats that 5 degrees F.

    And mondays high is -19 Celsius

    anything here below about 30 F is considered very unusual, especially when its just the beginning of December. i don't even want to look at British Columbia its so cold there.

    I have been working my way through section 2 and got as far as renameing the england map. The mod now loads as far as the faction screen with no problems.

    But if i go onto the campain map i get a CTD within a few seconds do i have a problem somewhere or that normal for this stage of the lesson.

    I suppose England is somewhere in the middle. It never gets really hot here but i never gets really cold. We are just having a cold spell where its been below freezing for a week now and that is unusuall.

    if you have made all the changes to the text files correctly then there shouldn't be a CTD at all.

    Okay i think i sorted that out it loads alright now and no CTDs. Time to start on the second part of it.

    Some questions first though,

    Do i need to delete all the .bin files like campain discriptions .bin if i make word changes or does it not matter.

    If i change the word England in the files for Albion does it matter what i change word English to i used Albonian.

    Not a biggie but should there be background music in the mod when you are in the campain screen.

    I was just wondering.

    Most of them regenerate even if you dont delete them, but not all. I always delete just to be safe.

    You mean in the expanded.txt file? The part outside of the brackets you can anything you want. You can change it to say Green Headed Martians...

    in the brackets you have to change everything that relates to england. so even english_merchant or something like that you would have to change.

    Yeah there should be. Did your sound files copy over properly?

    I think so but i can try recopying them. I looked in my Vinalla sounds folder and there is music idx. and .dat and voices 1, 2 and 3 .idx and .dat I was wondering about copying them over as well.

    Recopying the files did the trick now i have music

    I'm having a CTD a second or two after the loading screen starts to load, similar to Alexander's post:

    Thanks for the quick response, GrnEyedDvl. I fixed those "faction type not recognized" errors by doing a simple find and replace.

    I'm not quite sure, however, where the problem lies with the banners file. I replaced the 14 instances of "England" and left the references to english banner files alone. I've uploaded my descr_banners_new.xml file as an attachment. My faction's name is "Humans". I know, kinda bland, but I'm hoping to spice it up a bit with my faction description.

    Here's the screenshot I was going to post before. I fixed campaign_script.txt, so disregard those entries.

    Its not a garuntee that the error is in the banner file, its just the first thought I had.

    So now does your error log still show the video memory error?

    Recheck all the files for a typo on Humans. Do a search for Human instead of Humans and see if anything pops up. If you dont solve it that way then upload the mod folder.

    I checked all open files for typos based on common misspelling of Humans - "humna", "hunam", "human", etc. with no luck. I'll edit this post and attach my folder.
