    James the Blond lol

    You guys crack me up.

What city did you try to make roads for? I can see a road from New Liverpool to the port...

if you want more information on roads and how they work then read this. Its a pretty detailed thread from back when I was learning to map this crazy game.

I tried to make a road from Newliverpool to the port you see there. In the fourth picture it's not there, even though the it is located in the province. I first tried to move it (compare image three four) but it took editing the map for it to work. Painting the region another colour in the map_ground_types.tga allowed for it to appear as you see in the last few images.

The impassable ground types will kill a road, as well as beach.

Well I tried doing this again after a very long time and I failed to even start a campaign with no modification. Could the teachers check my modfolder, I know it's big but I have done everything according to the instructions, here it is. Thx in advance as always.

Decimator22, Arguin Province is still in most of these files. Is Dongola_Province supposed to be the faction you want instead of Arguin? Since the first step is renaming Arguin, get rid of all references to arguin in your files and then try it.

I'll try that but according to you I have all that is needed to start a campaign? because I wasn't able even before I started modding.

If M2 wasn't working before you started the mod do a reinstall. If the main game doesn't work than the mod definitely won't.

could not find next child. Children list must be terminated with an end

and here is the the bad line 1763:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
relative Alexius Comnenus, Irene, John Comnenus, Anna, Burningsoul Comnenus, end

note: i have edited the descr_names.txt file, so the name "Burningsoul" is in the byzantine character names.

M2 does work but the modbasics one I could never do a campaing with it, it would always crash...

Burningsoul try taking the name out see if it makes a differance. If you still have a problem search the threads here GrnEyedDvl has a link to a tutorial on making a family tree. That is very useful.

I have edited the descr_strat.txt file a lot of times, so I hope I is not a problem i put the settlement right away under byzantine control.

EDIT: So to change the name of a settlement, i have to edit the descr_strat.txt, imperial_campaign_regions_and_settlement_names.txt and descr_regions.txt files right?
