The Devil's Whore - new mini-series

Just read a review of this film about the English Civil War.
Could be a winner if what I read about the battle depictions (shot in South Africa to save costs and allow large battles)
They spent 7 million on the four part mini-series.

Anyone recommend it?

just checked some of the battle scenes out and its nothing to write home about actually. Their are only about 5 extras holding pikes!!

Yeah it's good although I'm not very clued up on the civil war so can't comment on the historical accuracy too much. My dad thought they didn't play on the religious motivations too much though.
It's a pity the BBC didn't do it because they had planned a 12 parter.

Its just another excuse to bring out the powdered wigs and show 'historically accurate' sex scenes. The trailers were making it look pretty good, wont bother watching the rest of the series.

Such is the way of television I think - any historical drama we get seems to be jam-packed with as much sex as possible; take "Rome" for example, the damn thing was like a period porn film.
