I had today a good example for the devastating effect of sneak damage in fallout III.

The teddy was hit by the Agatha's Blackhawk (it was my first shoot) in the near of the minefield. (V.A.T.S. Headshot 95% in sneak)

I have several corps on air before; also, it is not uncommon to see some enemy suddenly walk on air.

Nope i have a vanilla game only. Well as i wrote it was my first shot in sneak modus (95% V.A.T.S.) with the Blackhawk and my char has Luck 10, Bloody Mess and Finesse. I have a save file and the shot is repeatable.

I've had that happen before with the combat shotgun and a yao guai.

I remember one time that a Yao Guai was charging at me. I took out the Combat Shotgun, and shot it in the head. It was on the verge of death, so when I shot it in VATS, the head flew off, and the rest of the body flew over my character in slow-mo. My roommate saw this all happen too, and we both agreed it was the coolest thing we'd seen in Fallout 3 thus far.
