Installing mod in Rome Total War Gold edition on STEAM

Doesn't seem to work.

I've set the installer to the Rome dir but in the steam/steamapps/common file rather than the activision dir selected by te installer but the desktop shortcut says 'couldn't find steam' when I launch it. There is a 'BI' folder but I just can't seem to launch this shiz.

You installed WoM and it is as if it is not installed?

Fire up the game and check what the background pic of the main menu says at the top-right corner. It should read "Wars of Men".

EDIT: everything's working except the Custom battles. I see alll the maps. But When I press to play It send me back to unit Phase page

Is your BI patched up to version 1.6? (launch the game, go to Options screen, check the top-right corner of the screen)

Have you applied the 2.6/WoM Hotfix? (bottom of the page here)

I did apply the fix and BI is automatically 1.6 and is on steam which auto updates,, sooo..... (scratches head) But no worries Aradan I will buy retail tomorrow, for this game and others, then it will work no probs. And thanks 4 help dude. Much appreciation.

It's a marvel that a person can even get the vanilla game downloaded and working with Steam, let alone a mod!

Yes, a retail copy is probably wise.

Well I'm an idiot, don't know what went wrong when trying to get it to run on steam but when I click to play the mod I get a pop up saying that the file I'm trying to use is not compatible with my current version of windows....Wtf?
