I'm looking forward to IJV3.0

I didn't have much time to get to the forums or play IJ lately,
but I am looking forward to IJV3.0 a lot.
IJV3.0 will be really great.
I won't have a lot of time to play, so I will only play a little time,
so that my campaign will last longer.
Then I do all the things that I usually get bored of when playing longer,
instead of skipping them to get to the exiting stuff.
Like fighting every small and meaningless battle.

So instead of rushing and training new armies, I retrain all legions and do everything with detail.
It will take a lot of patience, and it will take a long time for the campaign to unfold.
But it will just be great to fight a very hard battle with a legion, that I played with for months.

I don't care so much if IJV3.0 will be out in a month or in five, but i hope it
will be final, and not be as crashy as 2.01a.
This is no complaint, I liked the last version very well.

I also don't like silly native unit and faction names, which I really hope will not
be in IJV3.0.

I also hope it wont be as crashy. I'm finalising the new ethnic traits which have been causing me no end of grief but I feel wil add extra depth to the game. It's a slow process with a team of me, myself and I, which makes for an interesting discussion (opps, I should've left that for my therapist), but I'm determined to get it done.

If it ends up delaying IJ3.0 too much I may just release the mod with a more simplified traits file.

That sounds really great.
It sounds as if IJ3.0 is finished besides the (very complex) traits.
So how far is the beta away, maybe with a more simplified traits file?

You must get that a lot, but any word on when IJV3.0 will be done?
I don't mean to push you.
Actually, I think it should be done right and just be released whenever ready.
I still kinda like a rough estimate for when to look forward to.

Well, without the extra ethnic traits, it would be a week. With the ethnic traits it may be longer. The trade off is a mod that will work but be less rich compared to waiting for the polished product with more complex traits.

And yes, the only thing left to complete is the traits files.

Either way, I will still release it as a BETA as I'm sure there will be things that I've forgotten.

That is not an easy desicion, JH.
Like everybody, I hope for a more rich mod, but on the other hand,
if it's just not possible to do the complex traits as wanted, one must be able to accept that.
Well, if the trade off is just a little longer wait, that would be fine with me.
I just hide in my books for a while longer, until the game is ready.

Maybe there should soon be a functional beta, not for gameplay experience,
but to have more time to detect bugs, to root them out for the final version.
