Mithrandir is right, every strategy game I know, or even every game I know, uses illustrations for 2D elements.
If you think they look too stylized like cartoons, I have to say you are wrong they carry a lot of realism and since most of the time they will be represented in the game in much smaller versions, they will look even more real.
Gondor is really impressive, looking forward to seeing Rohan.
Yes Gondor is probably the best looking ones, but the rest are still a bit silly. I think the buildings should be illustrated as bigger and moore magnificant, as I dont think thoose small orcish huts really illustrates the true nature of saurons buildings.
You´re right, a bit at least. But imagine you would have those "bigger and moore magnificant" icons, maybe in a photorealistic style, that Mod would loose ground and style. So I think that icons, wich are obviously in a cartoon-style, create a denser atmosphere. Apart of Mordor, wich I think looks a bit too harmless, all realesed faction icons represent the spirit of the faction in a good way. Imagine you´re playing that Mod and you have the Map of Middle-Earth in front of you (which is also non-photorealistic) and some photorealistic icons in your Buildings Bar, that would not fit together.
Hell no, yours are way better and you know it.
No we can't, I hope you realize how much we appreciate and need your work.
Cheers Mith Varjon, I know but it just there to prove a point, I don't know any other mods where they have decided to change details like these to give you a more engrossing play theatre once you go into your factions details, so you know that you are actually chaging the faction you are playing details

I agree that gondor does look better, but this just goes to show that his skills are improving as he progresses which is normal. And you have to remember that there are three orc factions and it wouldn't make sense to have big stone buildings to all of them and even in Mordor I Believe that all buildings weren't like that either. I think a few unique buildings like orthanc would help bring the magnificence of the cities of middle-earth.
I don't understand you guys. Rogu3granny's icons fit to TA:TW even better than vanilla icons fit to M2TW. In game they look even better. Do you realize that one single building icon takes hours of work from him because he makes them by himself?

But really, Rogu3granny has made some of the best building Icon I HAVE EVER SEEN! They fit perfectly within the game, and if it wasn't for Code_Knight's "Talent" (and Junior Moderator Badge) Then you would be the best 2D artist I have ever seen!
P.S. Elrond wasn't a "High King"
He wasn't but most of the team wanted that title for High Elves faction leader.
