    I really don't think we should worry all that much about the size of the folder. Files are created in the folder when you play a custom battle, or the campaign, which some people may have done in order to check if everything is working properly. Because of this the folders are probably a different size for everyone. As long as it's around that number (33.8 MB) you should be fine. Also, make sure your reporting the actual size of the folder, and not the size of it on your disk.

    The size of my audio.dat, and .idx combined is only 48 Bytes.

    ok. i figured that i might as well follow the whole course as it is laid out, in case i run into troubles with the part i signed up for, so i set up that mod folder as described.
    the sound files was created on the first run and the modlfolder is 26mb.

    Got it to work and I found the missing files of
    audio.dat
    audio.idx

    However I have a question, when I unpacked the game, in the "C:\Users\Usuario\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files" of vista it filled the M2TW folder with a lot of files should I have copied those files to the modbasics one? or the ones in the programfiles

    Another thing the save,preferences, &audio files were generated in the virtual store also I just copied them to the ModBasics folder in programfiles.

    Yea, I had that problem recently. You need to have that file (msvcp71.dll) as well as msvcr71.dll in the folder with the unpacker. These files are found in the main Medieval II Total War folder, just copy and paste them from there in the unpacker folder.

    Not as long as the game runs and you can enter battle mode. I have seen some variations in file size a few other times too. Some steam versions seem to do things a bit differently as well.

    I have seen that error a time or two as well. I actually have copies of those files if anyone needs them, as well as the sound files that sometimes dont show up. I performed a clean install on my laptop and unpacked, and I have the two audio files. I have the very first release of M2TW, so maybe that is something they changed with future releases.

    more issues. the only instruction i was unable to do was the audio.dat and audio.idx . other than that i followed your instructions to the letter. no clue what is wrong.

    Inside your M2TW folder is a folder called "logs". Open up the log file and post the last several lines of it and maybe we can see something there.

    Ok well that doesnt have anything from your ModBasics folder listed, so your mod is not even running far enough to get the system.log created properly.

    Paste your .cfg file for me.
