I second this. AoD II is probably the most interesting RTW mod in development, so unique!

we will prepare a small preview of course. At the moment we are still highly evolved in the most important: the unit making. That's the reason why other projects have stopped for a little while (e.g. customized settlements etc.) . But AoD2 has succesfully implemented a brand new vegetation one week ago (no, it's not from RS2) - the background and information are top secret for the moment.

Hmm, are you by any chance using Eorl's vegetation? It looks gorgeous, yet according to him it's much less taxing on the system. Also, I dimly remember hearing something about your mods cooperating.

As the poster above asked, is there any new previews in the foreseeable future?

Where did the good old new years teaser go?!

The team may have something better to do than making previews and replying to questions about progress? Their either working on the mod or they are busy in real life, probably...

    ...or probably both of it.

Yes, we are indeed still researching some issues. As perhaps some of you saw - we are making a new Historiae-thread about the symmetrical warfare and legionary cavalry etc.
That requires my full attention - simply because it is a quite difficult research.

Also a new research concerning the sasanians is on the way - including a summary of the sasanian tactical manual and a map of the sasanian allies and people living within the sasanian empire of the late 5th and 6th century (also nearly done and by the way it the first map which is published regarding the sasanian-people in the internet and based on the Tübingen Atlas - the most comprehensive one in this segment).

All this for free for the TWC-community and fans of AoD2.

So, therefore I can only ask to have a little bit more patience.

Please, don't take my question as an insult to your marvelous work sirs, but have you ever considered the question of porting to M2TW ? I mean, Rome's engine begins to be really obsolete, and all of your models are magnificent, beating the already awesome work of the Invasion Barbarorum team, and I'd say that they are actually the best ever done for this period. I think that the M2TW engine would offer you more possibilities and features than the aging RTW engine.

I don't mean to be rude, just a question. You have perhaps particular reasons not to do so.

No offence taken, personally I enjoy RTW engine, mods like SAI and RSII show what can still be achieved, great game play and historical authenticity. The draw back with some MTW mods currently under construction is the buildings are much harder to mod, and so often remain medieval and so lets the other -sometimes brilliant work- down. That's my opinion

    Hi Marcus,

as Constantius said, we don't take constructive critics as an offence. And thank you for your kind words concerning our model-department. I'm sure that empio and morfeasnikos are glad to hear that.

Actually we offer a complete new strat-map which is bery beautiful (and filled with life).
Furthermore we have a complete new 3D Vegetation for the battles which was developed in teamwork between Fourth age mod and AoD2 and we have the new units. We have prepared dozens of new 3D buildings (+a complete overhaul of all textures even for old buildings, streets, walls), we offer new 3D customized cities (no clone cities anymore) etc.

But our primary aim is to simulate the 6th and 7th century with all its complicated military structures and politics - with an high degree of authenticity. The mod is basically made for historians who like to play this simulation.
In this case the used engine is a secondary issue for us - and as Constantius said - M2TW brings also other difficuties. And finally M2TW was released in 2006. So, from this side the M2-engine is old as well (even if it's improved in many ways - but the benefit does not reveal itself to me).

A shift to another engine however becomes an option for us if Rome2-TW will be released.

But thanx again for your kind words and regards
