Since it happens in 1877, its well after the close of the game, which may be some time between 1800 and 1815. However within the 18th Century there's plenty of scope for Russians-v-Turkish campaigns.

that video is WAY past the end date of Empires... and the only 'special' campaign that we have been told about so far is the American Road to Independence

In game, Russia and Turk are usually going to fight each other.
But since when CA and SEGA is Middle East based Companies?
Sometimes both sides are wrong. Unfortunately most people do not understand this and argue endlessly.

From what they have announced, it seems like the only smaller campaign is the American Revolution, and I would guess that the Russo Turkish wars won't really get any special attention. It's an interesting idea, though.

Well games set in this time usually are Eurocentric because a lot was going on in Europe at this time. This is less eurocentric as it involves the americas and east too. to try to create a game in this time without some eurocentricity would be very hard considering this is when Europe began to dominate the world.

Well, siege of Pleven will not be in since it happened in 1877-78 Russo-Turkish war, but those battles that happened in the 1700s between Russians and Turks will be shown.

CA have already stated that there'll be no historical battles this time so i doubt they'll be making an exception for two minor Empires The only battles between them will be those that occur on the campaign map or ones set up using the quick battle feature.

I will say in this thread, what i said in other threads:

The siege of Pleven will not happen as it did historically, because it is well out of the game's time frame.

And i do not understand people who say certain events will not be in the game because they are out of time frame or non-historical.

When i see a new TW game i think not of what historical period is in it, so much as i think about what possibilities it presents to me as a player to accomplish and experience history how i see it.

I am sure there are plenty of people on this forum that can wholefully agree with me.
