Whilst unarmoured and equipped with weaponry better suited to hunting game, when called upon to engage the enemy in close quarters or at range, these men are capable of fighting with a determination that belays their lack of formal training.

Welsh Skirmishers

Unskilled, untrained and unarmoured, Welsh tribesmen make surprisingly good skirmishers. Well suited to rough and craggy terrain and equiped with javelin and shield, these troops can make a vital contribution to any Welsh army.
Although unskilled fighters these tribesmen are well suited to fighting with their javelins on rough terrain.

Spear Militia
Spear - Light - Spear+Shields
Common throughout Europe, Spear Militia are commoners and peasants who have been levied into local militias to defend towns, roads and bolster armies. Given some training and equipped with a long spear and shield, these units are useful in support roles for heavier and better units.

Armoured Warband
Spear - Light/Heavy - Spear+Shields
Hailing from the Kingdom of Morgannwg, these heavily armoured spearmen enjoy the sense of security that only thick plate armour can provide. When engaged in frontline combat they specialise in containing their foes long enough for their allies to outflank and then break the enemy line.
Heavily armoured spearmen, their defensive qualities ensure they are excellent at holding the line.

Infantry - Light - Axe+Shields
Fierce and wild warriors from the Scottish Highlands. These hardy and reckless warriors, accustomed to in-fighting and raiding for loot and slaves, fight with light armour, a shield and are equipped with an axe. Notoriously ill disciplined these warriors can pack a punch but are no match for disciplined and armoured units in formation.

Celtic Berseker

Bersekers are tough men, known for their ferocity in battle. Their skills with a sword and shield is matched only by the fear they generate.

Highland Clansmen *(Faction unique unit: only Scotland)
Infantry - Light - Sword+Shields
These soldiers originating from the highlands and isles of Scotland. Although their light mail armour and helmets are better than the common folk can aspire to, their equipment is scarcely comparable to that of the nobility from more prosperous lands further south. Nevertheless, their fighting spirit and vicious swords mean that they command respect on the battlefield.

Arras Warior
Infantry - Heavy - Two handed axe+Shields
Most Scottish infantrymen are know for favouring strength above all else and the Arras Warriors are no exception. Wielding a large two handed axe and the heaviest armour available to them, what these axemen lack in tact they make up for with sheer brute force.

These are the Celtic clan leaders and their kinsfolk. Ridire Bodyguard *(Faction unique unit: only Scotland)
Cavalry - Heavy - Sword+Shields
The Ridire Bodyguard are knights of noble Gaelic heritage, and are afforded great respect in Irish society. As would be expected, these knights arrive on the battlefield well trained and equally well equipped. Favouring the sword and shield, they will defend their general with their lives.
