Fallout.
The setting is brilliant, the whole 50's post-apocalyptic setting and the atmosphere in the game is also perfect, you really feel like you're a survivor in a big, hostile world.

Oblivion was joke they should scrap Elder Scrolls and concentrate on making Fallout games from now on...
Elder scrolls hands down. Fallout is great, but compared to elder scrolls i don't think so. Elder scrolls has a diversity in atmosphere in different regions, fallout has a post apocalyptic world everywhere, different interesting races in elder scrolls, fallout has one race, more conflicts between different factions and the ability to join different guilds, simply the fallout world does not compare in size and diversity of elder scrolls. Morrowind is as good or better than fallout 3, Oblivion was also good, but the atmosphere and world in oblivion was a little boring. But over all Elder scrolls is better.
Elder Scrolls for me. even though Fallout is pretty good. I just don't like the lack of accuracy on most weapons.
Elder Scrolls.

Fallout. Wonderful world...
I adore TES though. I mean, Morrowind is one of the all time RPGs. TES has wonderfully deep lore which I have often been immersed in.

:S Fallout is so much more superior than TES that it's just not even worth comparing.

Elder Scrolls, mostly because of Morrowind. I like Fallout too, but I didn't like the gameplay of the old ones very much. (*cower*)
But Fallout 3 had 10 times more atmosphere than Oblivion, so it was a close decision.
But even with 100% in small arms, I am nowhere near to the accuracy of a regual shooter.

Even with 100% in a weapon group, it's still an RPG, and you won't hit every time.

I cant really judge because i havent played earleir variations of either series, but id say I played and will play oblivion (much) longer then fallout 3, but fallout 3 was more exciting and had better suspense.

Elder Scrolls, hands down.
Morrowind was AMAZING. I have so many good memories with that game. I can pick that game up and just play it for hours. Only other game that I can do that with is Rome. Daggerfall was fun, but was too big. And Oblivion sort of went down hill. So,
Morrowind > Fallout 3, Fallout 3 > Oblivion, Oblivion > Daggerfall, Daggerfall > Arena. I didn't include Fallout 1 and 2, because the topic is in the Bethesda Games sub-forum, so I assume it means Fallout as done by Bethesda.
I thought about writing something clever, but then I remembered I'm not clever enough.
^ Well, it does say series.

Fallout. It does not have elves.
And its better anyway.
I'll go with fallout. I've clocked in at least 200 hours in FO 1 and 2, at least another 100 in Tactics, and 50 so far in 3.
Where as Elder scrolls I've given up much quicker and there were less interesting things to do (barring the fact that I spent alot of time modding Morrowind with my own little fortress.
