still the same problem o well ill try expirmentation on my own thanks for the help anyway + rep
Every time I try to place a port in my self-made map, an error occurs: "the port should border the sea". What could possibly go wrong?
Here's the complete mod file:
http://files.filefront.com/map+modzip/;12687433;/fileinfo.html
I know, there should be more than one region, but that's a minor problem.

That's exactly what I'm doing. Placing port and in photoshop somehow doesn't work either.
I downloaded it and checked, you have the wrong colour for the Sea.
I have a little problem when i open the english version in the medeival 2 total war folder, it sais that The folder "media" cannot be found, the program will now exit.
please help.
Download the French Version, Extract it, then put the English .exe in that folder overwriting the French .exe. Then run it, most options will be in English now.
What does "you must add new areas one by one' communicate means? At some point I managed to get this error, which prevents me from adding new regions. Tried to remove one region and try adding new one, but after creating one reg. same problem occured.
Hi, I've encountered a problem. I've added this height map that is 1021 x 570 and when i open it up with geomod it only shows a tiny box of the whole map. Could it be that I copied and pasted the new map onto the older map?
I had all the map files, but i wanted to make another map so i copied and pasted the new map image onto the old heights map. I also edited the other map files to match the new heights.
I think it has something to do with the size of my maps, here's their sizes:
Height 1021x570
roughness 1021x570
Regions 510x285
trade routes 510x285
ground types 1021x570
fog 1021x570
features 510x285
map FE 510x285
climates 510x285
water surface 256x256
I'm guessing its the 256 by 256 water surface map, but I'll let the experts decide .
Thanks in advance,
LoTP

You pretty much mixed up all the sizes:
I am assuming here that the size stipulated in descr_terrain is 510 x 285
map_regions: 510 285
map_trade_routes 510 285
map_features: 510 285
map_roughness: 1020 570
map_ground_types: 1021 571
map_heights: 1021 571
map_climates: 1021 571
map_fog: 1021 571
water_surface: 256 256 (best made from a resized map_heights for coast alignment)
map_fe: 384 275 (not needed, only placeholder for faction maps)
You might want to have a look at the first link in my sig for more details
