    EDIT: Corrected the mercenaries, and used convert_all. But now instead of a CTM it gives a large delay before starting the campaign.

    Geomod has a minor problem when you save: there is a problem with the text\historic_event.string.bin file - if you have not changed anything there then simply delete this string.bin file.This will take care of the freeze.
    As to the throw back (Crash to Menu - CtM) as CC said: there should be a detailed message line in your log describing the error, most of the time it is related to the desr_strat file.

    Fixed it, I had to download Pyton 2.6 (Had 2.7.9), converted, fixed it. The throwback was because of the descr_mercenaries file.

    Ah, if you have no mercenaries in any given "pool" Geomod will save as no unit instead of just leaving it blank. You will need to fix it every time you save with Geomod or just throw a 'dummy' unit in until you get to actually building the mercenary pool.

    A pool should have at least one unit, doesn't really make sense if not. But good to know how Geomod handles it.

    I usually create dummy pools as you describe with one generic unit for all to add right at the creation of the region - that saves me the tedious work to do it at a later stage. At some stage in the development phase I then 'flesh' the pools out.

    I tried to use Geomod on DaC for Third Age. I passed some provinces to Gondor and it keeps giving me "Building gap" and "culture db max settlement level differs from building db max settlement level". Odd since I didn't modify Descr_buildings and DaC works perfectly.

    Might be better to take this problem to the DaC forum, or atleast the Third Age forum. It sounds to me that they adjusted the building trees for different factions but without TA or DaC I cannot say anything with certainty.

    I rebuilt my EDU from scratch, so at the time I had no 'generic units' to put in and there are no 'vanilla' units in my EDU, as a quick and dirty fix I just emptied all the mercenary pools.

    So I fixed that earlier error by copying over all files but the campaign. Now i must deal with Geomod breaking the custom settlements by changing faction creator of every single province in the game.

    Also, how do I change capitals? Just move the province up?

    The settlement furthest to the top in Geomod's settlement\region list will be the first in descr_strat for a faction and thereby the capital.
    Faction creator - can you give an example (before and after)? This sounds as if a non existing faction might be used and therefore replaced - can't think of another reason.

    As far as I know Helm's Deep is supposed to belong to Rohan - isn't it? Is norway listed in the descr_sm_faction and descr_strat file?

    I can only imagine that there was some formatting issue - Geomod does not change entries on its own otherwise. Is there a custom 'plan_set' entry above the faction_creator line?
