First time I am hearing that, Python doesn't come into the equation. Just a few posts back we had that 'mouse problem' that got solved via font index size. (DPI scaling) Maybe try that?

Are you referring to the DPI scaling issue? If yes, I've tried it but it didn't help

Admin rights perhaps? Change the DPI setting in the tool's short cut properties? Set compatibility to win7 or 8?

I am out of ideas, sorry. Definitely graphics related, got some weird global settings perhaps? Ueber antialias, stuff like that?

I agree with you that it's graphics related. I've also tried to lower my screen resolution but still without success. The funny point is that I have an old laptop running on Windows 7 pro with a lower resolution and Geomod works like a charm on that one. I guess that I need to move my stuff on that one

Btw, is there a way to enlarge the Geomod screen. The window is a bit too small for my poor eyes

I asked the developer in the early stages and he said it would require substantial coding due to the weird pixel usage of the mapping process.

Just tried that 640*480 tick box to test the principle, was too small a resolution to actually fit into the window, but a quick resize will do the job. Simply right click on an empty spot on your desktop, choose 'display setting' and then reduce your resolution.
Just tried 1024*768 and that did the trick. 800*600 is a tad too small. Would be great if that solved your grid problem, too.

Thanks for the tip but it doesn't solve my issue with the grid. I think that it might be due to the theme. That's a pro laptop and they (IT guys) have set the XP theme (which is damn hugly) to save bandwidth on our network (what the IT dept said). I can not change it unfortunately. But it might be the reason

Hi, Just curious if there was another fix for the rubber-banding mouse problem because when I used absolutex's solution it proved too small for me to use the tool effectively. I have also tried running it in every compatibility mode there is and that didn't help either any ideas would be welcome.

EDIT: Nevermind, changing the res to 1080x768 works fine

Just curious, what is the best way to use this? Create a new map from scratch or enhance an existing one?

    Both actually.

The best use of this tool is for small work on a map, eg matching a cliff to a coastline, adding a building to a settlement, creating and placing characters, placing a river in between valleys, that sort of detail work. You will have to create a basic map (see here for examples) before you can use the tool, but even the large scale work like laying ground type at this stage is not problem.

See the manual for use of the various functions.

And here I come again with a new problem ! I used Geomod to add a province with a name containing a "ü" and I got the error Tyler717 experienced some posts (and years) ago. The one that says : " '' is not associated with any entry in the data\text\imperial_campaign_regions_and_settlement_names.txt.strings.bin file". I know it happens because of this "ü" but I don't know which files are affected by it (obviously not only the descr_regions and the .bin names file, as I fixed them without any result)
So I'm stuck with this and I can't lanch Geomod to repair it properly. Can anyone help me by chance ?

Oh, and btw, the Geomod tool helps me a lot (apart from this little error)
