Default Some sort of grammar helper?

I only ask this because spell checking alone isn't quite doing it for some posters at TWC, and it's a bit of a pain to have to manually correct their words. Have a poem.

    Eye halve a spelling chequer
It came with my pea sea
It plainly marques four my revue
Miss Steaks eye kin knot sea.

Eye strike a key and type a word
And weight four it two say
Weather eye am wrong oar write
It shows me strait a weigh.
As soon as a mist ache is maid
It nose bee fore two long
And eye can put the error rite
    Its rarely ever wrong.

Eye have run this poem threw it
I am shore your pleased two no.
Its letter perfect in it's weigh
    My chequer tolled me sew.

Are you asking if there is a plugin that will handle this? I doubt it.

I don't know, but it would be great. It's not so much of asking for a plugin as a plea for people to learn better grammar and proper spelling, since spell check alone doesn't do anything.

English is not my first language but I am confident that it is "a plea with somebody for something". Still, the erroneous syntax of the word does not impede my understanding of your sentence.

Seriously now, although this is a forum where English is not the first language of many, while for others it strangely seems not to be, despite their stated country of origin or ethnicity, such a tool, may be of assistance.

For the time being, I would prefer a well thought post to a carefully constructed one.

We don't have any control over this. Spell-checking is part of the browser, not due to us.

Firefox has dictionaries you can use to spellcheck. Just select the one for your language.

I if any, would really need a grammar checker.

It is a pain to check your own writing? Surely you're joking. What is the point of writing if not to better understand yourself and your fellow human beings? A quick once over your work before you press the "submit reply" button will do everyone a world of good I think. There's no substitute for spelling and grammar only proofreading.

It could definately be quite helpful. I've started leaving out apostraphes, due to the fact that MS Word puts them in automatically, and I use that a lot. So its just a bad habit I've got into with computers, this is a problem that could happen with lots of things, so an auto-corrector a la Word (maybe not quite as retarded) might be fairly helpful.

    Thanatos, +rep for that poem

Play nice everyone, otherwise the Moderation Nazi's will show up behind the Grammar Nazi's, and you will have to go pay a visit to those Tribunal Nazi's.

Well, that brings up an interesting point, Sim. I think we're all agreed that it would be great if people would correct their own posts, but until such a program comes into existence to assist them in their endeavors...

I guess I'll just bear with their sentences in the meantime.
