Guys, it is always getting closer. There have been some delays due to being very busy at work. Here's an update:
Roman Skins - complete
Sassanid Skins - complete
Lahkmids - complete
Kidirites - complete
New generals - complete
New Banners - finalising
New Buildings - complete
New Traits - finalising
New Ancillaries - finalising
New recruting regime for romans - finalising
As you can see most things that remain are to do with txt files. To install the new religious and ethnic traits is rather slow as you have to make sure that the editing is done correctly or you may get a CTD.
One option is to release the BETA version without all of the ethnic traits then include them all later after the BETA has been tested. This would give me more time to include the ethnic traits in the final release and at the same time give you guys a chance to start playing. I'd be interested in your thoughts on this?
Cheers, and again I appreciate both your patience and enthusiasm. Just remember over the coming few months you will be getting a new IBRRV8.0, IJV3.0 and later the 3rd C mod IBRO.
if the beta dose not have some religons and thats about it.. i would love to see a beta soonly.(im realy impatient though)
"ANY person, country or race who use's religion as a pretext to kill or conquer deserves neither Religion nore Name"
This is good idea to release a beta version. For me it will honour be a betatester
i prefer a complete version and not a beta version.
is better a version finished.
Take the necessary time for a version finished and without ctd,is better.

Hello JH , take all the time in the world. I would rather wait than have an incomplete mod. I prefer quality anyday over a half-assed rush job. For those people that can't wait, take a chill pill or make your own mod. Well thats my 2 cents.
NM
I side with NH here. best wait for the finished product to be perfected.

I agree aswell you might aswell well wait a little bit longer to get somehting that is 100% and not 99% complete. Can't wait though, i want an army of indian elephants as they look cool

I would prefer the 100% version. But that's the perfectionist in me!
Well, i will attempt the 100% version, but will still release it as a BETA version to start with as there are things that can slip thru to the keeper so to speak and those changes can be made for the final release.
Just for an update:
Skin texture and CAS files all complete.
Revised Roman, Sassanid, Lahkmid, Kidirites, Armenians complete
UI Cards complete
New revised generals and standards complete
New buildings added complete
New recruitng regime complete
New traits & Ancillaries in progress (these are rather long and tedious but will add more depth to the game)
So I'm hoping to have something within a few weeks. It just depends on how quickly I can input the new traits files (and make sure they work) and then it will be ready.
Cheers all.

I think it would be a good idea to release a beta version before the final one.
That way you have more time for finalising the traits and you can respond to feedback.
When I was adding some traits to 2.01a, I learned that they often work out very different than you intended them to.
That's why it will require a lot of testing and redoing.
I even think 3 or more versions would be fine.
That way there is not so much pressure to rush it, and the fans have something to play.
I'm really looking forward to IJV3.0, any word on if it will be crashy?
