I had my tale all done, ready to submit, however I was an idiot and 'accidently' exited it just before I was going to play BF. Ugh. @_@
Seen some really unique stories here, some weird and some great.
Pontifex - Great story as always, very interesting with the whole 'rebirth' system you established in the story.
Juvenal - At first I didn't really understand your story untill I re-read it. Nice comedy and a new take on the picture. Another excellent story.
SunTzu - Your story was really good at the start and finish, however your centre was a little mushy. Nonetheless it was a good story.
Mr. Cursed - I thought your story as one of the best this week. However I do believe you did get some inspiration off week 9's tale by Medicus. I liked how you took the 'red' from the picture and used it as your main word in your tale.
R-Teen - Very.... unique? I laughed through the weird and funny comedy you added in it. I don't really like how you did the story though, could be improved but still a funny read.
Forlonhop3 - Another good story. Very interesting and I liked it alot. One of my favourites.
Very hard vote. There was two to three which I had a particular liking to. Pontifex and Forlonhop4 were my main two and it took me quite awhile to choose. In the end I chose Pontifex by a thread.

Oh and Sensi, why comment on everyone's but mine. Me sad now

lol this is going to be the weirdest competition ever!
I will post a statement to all stories soon
I was inspired by the John Boorman film Excalibur in which Uther Pendragon (father of Arthur) is given the sword by Merlin, becoming the True King by virtue of its possession. Later when finally defeated by his enemies, he plunges it into a rock to deny it to his foes just before they kill him.
Gah! Only one vote for me? Eh well, first try and all that!
I quite liked Pontifex's story. Very descriptive.
I haven't read any other submissions past this week. That was 100% me.Mr. Cursed - I thought your story as one of the best this week. However I do believe you did get some inspiration off week 9's tale by Medicus. I liked how you took the 'red' from the picture and used it as your main word in your tale.

I've returned--please forgive my long absence.
Voted for Ponti, I think he brutally-lyrically depicted the reality of the aftermath of a battle, and created an unique atmopshere by changing the (usual) point of view.
Looks like R-Teen's submission is very popular, and we shouldn't mind this; the application of smileys may be excessive, nonetheless it's also creative, and it sends out the message: put all of your instruments to good use.
I also considered mine to be rather good I vote for pontifex.
Maybe next time ill just bash on the keyboard randomly. I mean when random stuff like that wins why bother thinking

I'm always up for something new, daring to do something new, stuff where people would say "AMAZING!12" and "sucks" .
And as my English isn't the best too , I'm sort of "ignoring" grammar or word mistakes. I would not blame a young non-english for not delivering a perfectly correct text.
I mean, most stories until now were SO perfect, with an intellectual and coloquial level set very high (that I would not reach in near time..) , and I'm sure R-Teen has read some of them.
Yet he dares to submit HIS thing!
And it made me laugh. More than one time
I know that this sort of story or that many votes for it will confront some of you serious writers, but it is something UNIQUE in it's way as Sensei said already.
And to finish it I gotta quote Musthavename once again, as he speaks out what's in my mind:
That's my opinion. For smiley abuse and general crazyiness, R-Teen gets my vote
Don't get me wrong, TotW would be nothing without your masterpieces, gentlemen!
Thanks for the positive feedback gents.

Yes, I know that my english is ridiculous. Sorry about that.
But I didn't bash on the keyboard without thinking. I even changed some parts of my submission because I didn't know how to say them in English. I didn't know what is TotW exactly till some days ago. I shouldn't have post an entry so soon.
Next time I wanted to post something, It won't be chilish.
Thanks for the votes.

Eh...I put some REAL thought in to that...
when I read R-Teen I was like "Well, just Pontifex to compete with then". Lol...
But that's probably just my prejudice against smiley use (see sig).

i think ill refrain from this weeks totw since its rather obvious randomness wins rather than real skill. Case in point my story got no votes whatsoever, just klike last time i wrote one and pontis tied with rteens.
Chin-up Forlornhop3, I also got no votes despite it being my best story yet.
The competition measures popularity, a combination of quality and marketing and fashion trends and blind-luck.
I am sufficiently stubborn to still believe in the worth of my stories even without votes, so I shall certainly keep on writing them and I urge you to do so too.
Woah, I never knew R-Teen would get this many votes. Juvenals, Mr. Cursed and Forlon should be up there with Pontifex as-well, R-Teens was funny but so was Juvenals, and it included a more depthy, quality comedy. Still cant believe this, but the popularity of smilies must be crazy! The new generation doesn't want to read a story but smiliey it and R-Teen has used it to his advantage.

TotW is just like Picture of the Week Contest (in my eyes):
You put effort into a picture you really like, put it in the contest, and
You get 0 - no single vote.
This sucks major donkey behind, but you can only win if you keep going.
People who are new to the contest must live through hard times at first.
But if you don't give up, and learn steadily, you are bound to win.
Look at me; after lots of bad attempts at PotW, I finally won my first PotW !
So it is possible, you just have to be enduring.
About R-Teen's Story: It's just so "popular" because it differs so greatly from all other stories seen so far. It was a welcome diversification - I don't think another story like this would win the next week. This kind of tale is like a one hit wonder.
