Hullo there, I tried EOD II because I've always had an interest in Werewolves and Vampires ever since I was a little boy, and over the past week I've been on a mod stint where I've tried a new mod about every day.
Anyways, I had a few impressions to share.
1. The Map is a bit too island oriented for my taste...I feel like America vs. Japan in World War 2 Island hopping. I understand that the big 'lake' concept was what the mod team was going for, but I really don't feel like the A.I. does a good job of handling it.
2. The Royal Guards for Severin look horrible. I'm sorry to be so abrasive on this, but I honestly think of kids in bad Halloween costumes. It might be a good idea to do a bit of reskinning here.
3. It would be a good idea to give all cavalry some sort of secondary weapon. For example, the Assaki (I think thats it) cavalry of Rahala only has a spear, but it would be very neat if, like the Rahala bodyguards, the Assaki cavalry would pull out scimitars as well.
4. Many of the Severin units, the 'Daeva' guys all look pretty good as a concept, but the swordsman in particular don't have a very dark look about them. Theres some sort of scarf or psuedo-cape on their back which is red, and frankly doesn't look that great. And then the have a golden breastplate, and a black helmet. It would be a good idea to make all of the Daeva units, spearman, archers, and swordsman look the same as far as armor goes and preferably something dark to go with the feel of the faction.
5. Battles really are too short. I understand there's a user-made mod to reduce this but, eh. You guys maybe should look at it.
Thank you for putting up with my comments which I understand may sound very much like I'm just ing...people have a habit of pointing out flaws rather than perfections. I also understand that all further progress on the mod is basically frozen and stopped in favor of other mods, so the five points above would be good to consider in the case of the mod ever continuing.
And to end on a good note, the Denzim Knights are very, very impressive and the feel of the Rahala in general is very immersive in the sense that I feel like some great desert civilization, Harad and Umbar of Lord of the Rings combined into one with many fearsome light infantry units and corsairs that stretch out through all the waterways of the world. It's even persuaded me to enslave all of the settlements I capture as Rahala rather than exterminate as I normally would have.
All in all, good job. I'm just pointing some things that, in my view, could definitely use changing.
