    Hey B Ward, do we have to use the mod switch that you provided us with? or we can use just about any mod folder to test it? i know this is a stupid question but i wanna make sure if there are other purposes for that mod switch?

    It was for the class to use, but if you want to place your files in another mod folder, that's up to you also.

    I am running xp.

    And the cfg is fine. I copied it in the m2tw folder with the bat to see if it works and it does.

    Also: When I choose save from the nvidia pop-up window it says something about "copy".

    Questions:1) I color a layer with brown, but I want to draw a shape in it in lighter color. However, only darker colors can be see, but it comes black. What should I do to add light colors? (Photoshop)

    2)I do everything I must, but when I click the convert_all_dds.bat, a window comes up and says that I it can't open this program, what should I do?

    @ Romanos IV
    Are you making another layer on top of the dark brown layer? If you are that will cause your other color to blend on top of the dark brown layer. If you are going to go about it that way, select the pixels of your shape and delete it from the dark brown layer so your shape layer can only blend onto the fabric layer. Also have you downloaded and installed python to fun the converter?

    @Y_Filip
    Lesson One takes you into how to create a layer and color the clothes texture. Anything I post here would be the same as Lesson One. It also has screenshots to aid you in doing so. I'm not fulling understanding your problem. What exactly are you having an issue with in the image editor?

    @Icedie of South
    That's fine, but all that was required was a vanilla retexture so you don't have to do all that, but I'm glad you have a higher understanding of the textures. Also, get your attachmentsets done and you'll be finish the lesson. Great job. :thumbsup4

    @sinople
    No need to attach the files, screenshots of your textures and then in game screenshots are more than enough. And I'm still lost as to why you had to go through all that just to convert. I do apologize as I'm not a gimp user and it didn't make me go through all that to save my .dds file. But I'm glad you have it working. Just get me you attachmentsets files done with screenshots and you'll also be completed with this lesson. Nice going.

    Taken directly from Lesson One. Also what program are you using and do you have a working knowledge of that program and its tools?

    Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

    Now by looking at the model and the texture itself, it's pretty easy to see how they relate to one another. Now let's concentrate on changing the appearance of the clothing of the Feudal Knight. So let's look back at the file en_lmail_hmail_template.psd which should be open in either Photoshop or The Gimp. The template is divided into layers to not only keep things organized but help you easily customize the clothing of the mesh. First let's find the group called "en_hmail_1". For those using The Gimp, the groups from the .psd file won't show up properly so I've also included a screen to show you the layers we'll be focusing on as well. The names of the layers will be blue for Photoshop and red for The Gimp.
    Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

    Now what we want to do is create a new layer above Tunic/Tunic#3 and Tunic_Under/Tunic_Under#2. These layers will become our overlay layers where all the magic happens. We will rename these layers Overlay_Top & Overlay_Bottom. And set their Blending Option/Mode to "Multiply". Linear Burn also works well in Photoshop. Your layers should now look like the diagram shown below.
    Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

    Now that you have those layers set up, select a color to be used. You may use any color you wish as it will be at your discretion. For all intents and purposes I will be using a dark shade of red; color code (100, 0, 0). Now for those of you using Photoshop, right click on the box in the layer Tunic and select the option "Select Pixels". (
    Alternatively you can hold down the ctrl key and click on the box in the Tunic layer to select the layer outline as well
    ). This should select the layer outline. Once you've done that make sure you're editing the Overlay_Top layer by clicking on it and fill in the layer outline with your color of choice. It should have created your color as well as taken on the attributes of the fabric base texture. For you Gimp users, right click on Tunic#3 and select the option "Alpha to Selection". This should select the layer outline. Next click on the Overlay_Top layer and fill in with the color of your choice. Refer to the diagrams below for visual aid.
