After your many infractions and persistent refusal to follow the site rules, the moderators have decided to put you in the probation system. While you are on that list, any further infractions can result in a further suspension of one month which can be extended if deemed necessary by the Chief of Moderation. The length of probation will last 6 months, at the end of which the moderating team will discuss whether or not it should be extended.

If you have any questions about this, feel free to PM me or the Chief of Moderation (Seneca).

You see, probation is part of the system used now for members who have histories of violations. It is not, as you say, someone hating you picking on you, a member being placed on probation is done by the moderation staff as a group. It is not in any way unfair to you, if you break no rules, then it will cause no problem and you will be taken off probation.

In fact, it is much better for someone who is breaking the rules than the older system, where repeated offenders got increasingly heavier punishments, followed by complete banishment from the site. This was revised in favor the more lenient probation system, which allows for members who have a trouble history but are now striving to act within the rules to escape that past and become respected and law-abiding forumgoers.

Probation is meant to act as a reminder to follow the site's rules, or else face lengthy suspensions each time one breaks the rules. It's possible to act reasonably within the terms of probation during its length, and eventually be taken off the list - recently a number of people's probation terms were over, and up for review. After discussion, it was decided half of them were reasonably well-behaved during their time on probation, and thus no longer warranted it. The other half carried on doing whatever it was that got them into probation in the first place, and their terms were renewed. Pretty much what it says in the PM really.

What is so cruel or unusual about it? In fact, you are not even being punished. Probation does nothing to you if you abide by the rules. It is hardly unusual either, it is accepted site wide.

Yes. I'm not sure what your objection here is. If any member does something wrong they get punished. That is the point of having rules and staff.

Neither of those things are against the rules of the site. In fact, we have had admins on the site while drunk in the past. However, if you violate the rules of the forum while in this impaired state, you will be punished as any member would.

The staff, moderation staff specifically. As every members posts are judged.

Fellow staff members. And to assure that staff is acting properly, the tribunal exists. Further, if you feel there is some grand conspiracy against you, the tribunal is a public forum, and your case will be seen by all. The full membership of the site will therefore be able to monitor staff's actions towards you if you wish.

TWC's Probation System

If a user is a repeat offender he may enter in the probationary system. This is decided in one of two ways: (1) A members warning level reaches 16. (2) A member is enrolled by the Chief of Moderation following consultation with the moderating team. Any member of the moderating Staff can propose users for entry into this system.
How it works

• If a user is in the System every warning results in a suspension.
• The length of the suspension is decided by the Head of Moderation after consultation with the moderating team and it should not be shorter than a month.
• Subsequent suspensions during the probation period will increase in length.
• The length of probation period is decided by the Head of Moderation in consultation with the moderating team and should usually be no shorter than three months; the period restarts at the end of each suspension.
• The user in question is made fully aware of the rules and function of the system.
• Warnings acquired while on probation will result in a suspension and an upgrade to the next highest stage of probation (see below).

The Stages

• Stage One probation consists of a three month term with a one month suspension for any warnings acquired during that term.
• Stage Two probation consists of a six month term with a two month suspension for any warnings acquired during that term.

GH@Z!, I am in the same situation as you. However I like the system, and it's certainly kept me on my toes, making sure I stay within the ToS.

Um, like u said in another post (What does it matter it's not like i stole a car or something it's just a website).

There in u just answered your question if this site bothers u that much don't use it, not like it's one of a kind or cutting edge, it's same old crap as everyone else.
Personally i speak my mind about anything, but at the same time try and stay within the bounds of there rules, it's just as easy to insult someone with a large vocabulary, as it is cussing and being obnoxious.

Though who knows i could get banned tomorrow, peace.
