I currently hold precisely 50 provinces but there is still no popular support yet and time is runnig out. Only about 80 turns left and all I need is Rome.
Any ideas on how to force trigger the wars?

yes keep sending assassins after the SPQR people and eventually they will declare war on you

im trying to do this now. And still nothing, I just keep getting fined and my family members killed off while I've assassinated several members and captains while destroying rome and im still not at war.
