It was attempted, but it resulted in weird movements by the units.
This is all a result of the fact that CA never released an animation exporter/importer.

hmm. why does it have to be shoulder arms?:hmmm: we can always rest it, like here:

    http://www.1stroyals.org/drill.htm#

    the command "rest your firelock"

still accurate, and shouldn't really cause problems:hmmm:
I haz a culler!! (really, who gives a darn? its totally meaningless, and it doesn't really accurately reflect who I am)

I wasn't refering to shouldered arms: there is already a unit known to have this posture (or similar) that I suggested (in IBFD). the idea is we could mix it with the rest of the animations, and use that. here it is

but I leave this up to you. If this doesn't work (ATM I'm taking your word for it), I'm happy with what there is

one more thing: I'm wrking on a mod of my own (I just started). I would like to PM ye for some questions. here it is:

there is a way, stat_pri_attr: prec
formations are with bayonets all the time execcion when shooting, but the problem is that if you give an order to attack shoot and then loaded bayonet (not counting the units lose extra time between recharges and shot because men tend to turn in place and shoot whenever put into guard mode wasting time)

uh, that has nothing to do with the question (how to shoulder arms in the game), but OK.

Actually, the problem was solved a few years ago, though it hasn't been implemented in N2TW.

was in a couple of submods/mods (mine and Sudamerica: total war).

EDIT: see my thread, which is below this one.
