I saw a documentation about Tjernobyl and after I saw it I want to visit Pripyat so badly. I wonder if some company arranges trips to the areas around Tjernobyl and more important if it is safe.

Just play CoD4...
The Prinyipat map there is quite accurate from the pics I've seen
And you don't end up pooping from every opening you have, you won't get retarded kids etc.
Chernobyl is becoming more and more of a tourist attraction due to the uniqueness of a modern city being left on short notice and then overgrow for 22 years. Some of my friends and I are contemplating the possibility to go there next summer.
The basics of flying there
Wikitravel on Ukraine and Chernobyl (wikitravel served me well on my backpacking trip and I wouldn't be surprised if they have the same quality here).

It is restricted yes but It is rather easy to get permission to enter, if I understood correctly you basically just have to pay a sum of money.
Yes but it's not official, it is bribery. And the local stalkers will get you there.

You can buy the basics of an NBC suit for less than $100, then you can go everywhere, not just safe zones.

There should be tours there. That is how the Call of Duty 4 team got such info for their game...
It seems like an interesting example of a post-apocalyptical city(only without the apocalypse)
But still it's not very easy to get there and you'll have to follow some medical procedures and tests, plus it can rise your chances of getting any kind of cancer.
It would definitely be interesting to visit Chernobyl, but what about the effects of the radiation?? You don't wanna get some side-effects later .

And I've read once that you get a geiger counter so you can watch your way.
On May, 9th, they had opened Pripyat to the public, btw. You didn't have to apply for clearance, and that opportunity had been taken by many a tourist.

I want to go there, and you shouldn't be worried about the radiation, just don't drink the water.
Actually there is safe way to visit Chernobyl, as a STALKER in "Shadow of Chernobyl".
