I was thinking of making a mod of 1300 ireland and I like the way the basic roster i came up with is very similar to this roster, completely unintentionally. It's nice to think that ireland was so backward, 400 years later and the only real difference in fighting style is there are more Scots mercenaries
Were there but a tree in this godforsaken place i would have hanged myself.
Might be a bit late in saying this but great work! I myself am a native of Connacht and appreciate this. If only you could make a kingdom of Roscommon and a kingdom of Cork so that we can kick their arse for destroying our chance of winning the All-Ireland this year.
In ireland size doesn't really count. Even the kingdoms in tLK would likely have been made up of several smaller kingdoms ruled by a high king. Ui Maine would have been about the size of roscommon, it would have included parts of south roscommon at some point. This is the reason i might revive my ireland mod. It would be cool to show the complexity of irish warfare/politics. tLK can't really do that because it would put a disportionate amount of territories in ireland when the focus is more viking/britain.

Well this mod is more focus on United Kingdoms. Rather then a single Kingdom.
and the mod you be looking for is this.

I've played that, not exactly what i was looking for. Medieval irish history is interesting the only thing about it is the large events, vikings, normans etc. happen over long periods so you have to choose the start date carefully. A transition period between the vikings and normans would be good when the vikings were still effective but close enough to the norman invasion so the game wouldn't be over before they invade.
My indecision on that is one of the reasons i stopped doing the mod. The latest idea was to start in the 13th century as this gives 4 cultures; english, anglo-norman, gaelic and the scots under edward the bruce. Starting in later periods makes it easier to decide on cities/towns

I think the best would be to set it at around 300-600AD with the fall of rome, so you can have the golden age of Ireland and end it around 1300AD so you can have the Normans act as the mongols in Medieval 2 and end it with the Gaelic revolution. if your up for making the game. I would help were I can.
