Default What to see in Iran?

Hey. I going to Iran next weekend. If you have been there/live in Iran, please let me know what to do etc.

Also: any coultrual customs or habits I should be aware of?

    Thank you.
Thorolf was thus armed. Then Thorolf became so furious that he cast his shield on his back, and, grasping his halberd with both hands, bounded forward dealing cut and thrust on either side. Men sprang away from him both ways, but he slew many. Thus he cleared the way forward to earl Hring's standard, and then nothing could stop him. He slew the man who bore the earl's standard, and cut down the standard-pole. After that he lunged with his halberd at the earl's breast, driving it right through mail and body, so that it came out at the shoulders; and he lifted him up on the halberd over his head, and planted the butt-end in the ground. There on the weapon the earl breathed out his life in sight of all, both friends and foes. [...] 53, Egil's Saga
I must tell you here of some amusing tricks the Comte d'Eu played on us. I had made a sort of house for myself in which my knights and I used to eat, sitting so as to get the light from the door, which, as it happened, faced the Comte d'Eu's quarters. The count, who was a very ingenious fellow, had rigged up a miniature ballistic machine with which he could throw stones into my tent. He would watch us as we were having our meal, adjust his machine to suit the length of our table, and then let fly at us, breaking our pots and glasses.

I expected this from a guy with a cross in his avatar.

Anyway Iran has very beatifull places. I haven't been there but I have seen toooo many pictures. Iranians are very friendly people with a unique culture. Just be a good tourist. You might see some chicks but I doubt you could have much fun with them.
BTW Persian girls are generally very beatifull....especially the eyes.

Thus, communism, in particular, is a dogmatic abstraction; in which connection, however, I am not thinking of some imaginary and possible communism, but actually existing communism as taught by Cabet, Dézamy, Weitling, etc. This communism is itself only a special expression of the humanistic principle, an expression which is still infected by its antithesis – the private system. Hence the abolition of private property and communism are by no means identical, and it is not accidental but inevitable that communism has seen other socialist doctrines – such as those of Fourier, Proudhon, etc. – arising to confront it because it is itself only a special, one-sided realisation of the socialist principle."

why do you have this urge to gneralize? ME is NOT one culture. You can do/wear what Europeans does in most parts of Turkey(legally in every part of it)

In Iran/Iraq, yoU'd have some restrictions if you were women...I doN't think there are harsh rules for men.
Drinking alcohol is alo not allowed but there are some secret organisations which have deals with police (In Iran) You can even go party, drink and even get girls in these "secret" parties but I doN't know if the new government made harsher rules.

Lebonan and Syria are rather more open compared to their eastern neigbours....I doN't really know much but they should be better.

To the south, Saudia Arabia and the rest, I doN't think they're good places.
UAE is pretty westernized but the population is mostly the streotypical people of ME probably(see I'm generalizing meaning I'm probably wrong)

Yep, bar none Persian women are the most beautiful in the world, especially the lighter coloured ones. They need to start a Persian chick dating service so I can find some, cuz Florida or Alabama doesn't have any.

I've heard that it's generally a lovely place, as long as your outside of Tehran. Tehran apparently isn't too Western friendly.

I plan to go myself in many years, to purchase a hand forged sword made by one of the last surviving lines of Persian swordsmiths, the son of the recently deceased Ostad Hossein Farajian. ;]

Go to Yazd for the sweets and silk. Persepolis is a must too, if you're going to Iran you must go there. I hear Qom's nice this time of year too ().
