Default I say: "Time for a next P.I. build!"

    Hi all,

I think, personally, that at this stage of the beta (or not) mod and its' testers and feedbackers, that a new build is in line.

I can't wait for it! This is killin me!

    Thanks and Comments P.I. team?
hellas1 (Faithfully watching and waiting since you announced this mod, even though I don't know squat about the Pre-Marian reforms Italian Peninsula nor its' people other than the Romans or Etruscans!) What a mouthful!

lol... i'm an ignorant too in this part of the history, but you know, i just started playing and then i went to a site to research about the samnites, and i found nice stuff until i reached the samnite wars wich were written in Italian (help me Luciano!)...
i like to learn history, and this mod is awsome, i'll keep looking for info about all factions, etc

if you want to read about the samnites go to this site, there's a nice story of a samnite Linteati curiass found on a place where hannibal and his troops stayed after returning from the italian's wars: http://xoomer.alice.it/davmonac/sanniti/smlegioy2.html

    this is a fragment:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

"Sometime ago, in the Tunisian desert, an archaelogical expedition was lucky enough to zero-in at an old fortifcation at Ksour es-Saf, and after timely historic and topographic analysis they believed to have identified a place where Hannibal and his troops had established, after retuning from the italian's wars. Among the many reperts after the initial discovery, the finding of a beautifully executed gold-plated bronze cuirass stirred up a great deat deal of amazement and wonder. This armour, excellently preserved on both valves was found amid thick sand and maybe wrapped with the remaining of what would have been a multicolored cloth. The clasps of the metallic fibules uniting both valves (3)

represented a bull's head and the middle of the central plate decorated with branches of bitter oak and acorns. The main portion emphasized a head wearing a plumeted helmet and an acorn necklace same as the embossed one but much bigger, and was situated on the upper part of the front valve."

Yes yes, this site is well known to us and the curiass you are talking about is exactly what Luciano recreated for our elite Samnitian warriors as you might have seen

At the moment Luciano can't spare any time for the mod but hopes to be back on it soon - thus he can't translate the whole page for you I might have a link in english describing also parts of Samnitian wars for you:

Roman Strategy and Tactics from 509 to 202 B. C.
    http://files.filefront.com/Roman_Strategy_...;/fileinfo.html

    Roman Strategy and Tactics from 509 to 202 B. C. (part 2)

Regarding new beta addons I shall prepare the naval PI addon so that you guys can try it out in the new patch that will follow these days. It will be only a small addon but I guess enough to get you guys interested.

One more short source describing Samnitian wars:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samnite_Wars

You might want to read Livy's books in which Samnitian wars are written in all detail (English!) here:

dont worry, i know he's very busy...i think we can make a thread when we can add sources related to the history of this mod, that'd be awsome because being a noob on this part of history makes me want to learn more about it.

Very good idea dmesa! Actually we have one such thread dedicated to historical sources in our internal forum. It's not much though and a lot of other information is scattered all around the forum. Will find time and copy some links although I won't be uploading all the pics we have there - would take me too much time.
