Hi Maximus, As Legio kindly pointed out, while the units in the screens are from vanilla RTW. The battle fields and textures used are not.
While I am waiting for my Team Partner's to finish their heroic task on the units, I have been experimenting with the scenic aspect of the mod.
From basic textures to lighting, There will be as I have stated before new tree's and shrubs to be added to the scenic's.
    Thanks Legio
Hi Prince, Nice to see your post, 3000 It sometimes feels like it. A lot of my textures are based on adapted MTW2 texture files. Some work very well, others need a lot more experimenting on .
I am hoping that haer and hamsha the graphics wizards will give a tweak to the final files deceided on . regards. mags

    hi all!

we were heavily busy on the units with hamsha. we are using our little invention - "multiunit models" to apply diferences in units apearance in details. before making such unit we first needed to draw (yes - hand made drawings) our designs, discuss then and then create models with our tweaks and alpha channel changes in textures. it's a hard work before modelling.

our experiments gave us much optimism and i think we can use such models in our mod. 1.2 engine sopports our idea. i'll try 1.5 today

how is it progressing? i've tried to do it like this once:

now we need to add few more laers to it

thank you magpie. and thanx for all who supported and voted on my humble person

we all are great team without you we could only add units to the vanilla
i am doing some dark ritual magic on our units i've tweaked helmets now we are able to swithc them on a single model! soon i'll update this post with a preview

this is going to be really rare thing here and i think very original i'll show it in 3D tutorial as soon as the team members decide that we are done with most of stuff (and find it useful and working well) and we may share with others . maybe it will became a common fashion

    @ pacco

    thanx

here are RotN centurions from early roman republic.
they are set on a single model . such and similar tweaks will allow us to show various apearance of the same unit in the game. for example for each faction or for each legion

i'm still considering changing one shield to a round shield...

we are still making some tests to find out where is the limit
with few things we discovered maybe we will be able to increase DMB limits. we are going to test that soon cross your fingers friends.

    @ Worm

but we already have such centurions. the ones i've posted above are from early republican army.
the one you've posted is fromlater peroid. we want to save few things for later, but this one i'll be happy to reveal

centurion from later republic (marian reforms)

    @ Maxim Victor

thanx Maxim. i hope you won't be disapointed with other units made that way

no problem mate i was happy to show it
    nice gallery by the way

    another experiment: triarii.

2 triarii units with diferent shields still uses only one DMB slot

Brilliant work my friends, those units are superb
I am really glad the graphic's experiment is going well, If the final stage is pulled off, It will revolutionize RTW mods and others.
I am halfway through my experiment to adapt the game to RTW1.5, Lots of little adjustments have to be done.
Tell me was the forum down for a while.

hmm... honestly i didn't noticed. i was trying to eat something before more work
roman units are all done. we have all models finished. textures are made in most. lst thing will be making those 42 skins with tweaks for legions and having 4 versions of them. a lot of work before us friends.

    (i'll be back really late)

Wow haeressiarch looking good on the triarii and centurions. 42 skin you are a machine keep it up though plus the fact the team want to revolutionize RTW I think you are on the right path for you done so far I say that one big step towards its.

    @ Legio Caesar

thank you Legio. working with hamsha, magpie, pirates_say_aargh and Bigus_Dickus is very promissing indeed there are 3 more triarii to be shown, but that's future i may only say that skins are ready.

i had some serious talking with my great friend and historian Grzegorz (Gregory in english) and he said one really good thing.

"those units apearance is totally wrong in each mod. we will never know how they look like if archeology didn't reveal er secrets to us. you can use reconstructions and art buy they all have artistic licence nothing more. all you can doo is to have some probability and own vision of certain things. none of all twc mods will ever be realistic."

i trust his words and my own experience, and all that what hamsha and pirates know. and i know it's only a vision. so we will try to give you feeling of realism. but remember it's only "artistic licence". nothing more

    @ Mathais

thank you. i'm glad you like them. to be honest it's not a true revolution. it's something everyone uses but i didn't noticed that someone tried to use it this way but maybe it will be something to talk or think about. i've realised that we will have some problems with gloss textures (stuff responsible for making metal parts looks like metal - reflections and stuff) with multiunit models, but i think we will manage that

42 legions is not so hard. i have all materials done. we will have great fun with research, reconstruction and using that "artistic license" soon. i'm waiting for hamsha to be ready and any other help. if anyone has a vision of his favourite legion and want to see it in RotN like he/she imagines just post your sugestions and pictures that will help us a lot and giv you also a lot of fun with us here
ah! we are trying to make them historical, so:
    1. post pictures and descriptions.
    2. explain "why" you want them/they should look like that
    3. we are going to apply helmet types and armor parts which were truelly in use if your research will include such informations we would be very happy
    4. all of you will be rewarded for your help what is the reward? free download of this mod ofcourse

thanx for any help and any good word (criticism also).
