Wow nothing but good feedback. Even professional game designers can't achieve that, so I might just have to download this.

I found the battles to be quite long, actually.:hmmm:
Six units of Spearmen against one unit of Infantry.
(Mercia vs. Wales).

It is amusing to me as well...
BTW were some of the voice actors from FATW used here as well? I recognized the voice when I selected my general in battle.
I think it might be worth taking back some of the things I said about the longbows earlier. It seems though that they're a tad useless when it comes to seige battles (I'd only really had the chance to try them in sieges thus far). While they still don't inflict a lot of damage, I've learned that their main strengths are in their huge range, and their ambushing abilities. Exemplified well in this screen:
Another thing that I've begun to notice is that the environments in VI2 are extremely pretty. These are from a battle in the middle of wales, around early evening in-game.
To quote one of Juvenal's pictures - "Hands up who wants loot!"
And lastly, when I was scouting about with FOW off, I noticed this:
Did you guys put this in, or was it there from Arthurian TW?
I did not see the wall! I will have to invade the north now and capture it...
Yes, I like to think of it as more a "the voice of necessity" than a "voice actor"
Orgath - yes, download it! be the first to win a campaign of your chosen faction!
EDIT: We made Hnadrian' Wall (Halie Satanus made it and remade it quite a number of times coz I wanted it just so!)....
I'm glad you like the ground textures, grass and lighting - it's a tweaked version of my GaFM mod.

I call the Mercians.
We should have a progress report thingy-
like Jingle reports on his Welsh campaign, I on mine, etc.:hmmm:
AARs? I believe there is somewhere they can be posted on TWC - then a link can be posted here (?)
Though I guess small ones could be posted here, with small screenies - though posted them on the AARs thread (whereever it is) will help more people know about Viking Age II
Thx for all the great feedback / see edit to my last post too.

When I have the time I will write a full AAR with this mod.
Hmm ok I have an annoying problem. I have RTW BI 1.6 on Steam, which wasn't a problem when I installed the game, but it seems to be a problem with starting a game. When I tried to start the game a messege popped up saying "Failed to find Steam." So then I tried starting the game while logged onto steam, didn't work, then I tried bringing the VI2 shortcut into Steam and then start it, and it still didn't work.
Can anybody help me out?
Edit: I also tried using this post: http://www.thefourthage.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=3067
Not quite sure how to get this to work for VI2.

Not a Steam user myself but here's the old FATW thread on it:

Hope it helps. Please post the solution here if it is not obvious. Thx.

very nice work. maybe there will be any bugs, but it´s nice mod. and good platform to make more and more.... if you could boys.
I hate bugs. I hate CTDs. I hate sloppy coding. I like to play stable mods and - even more than that - I like to make them

Ya I tried that, notice the edit to my original post.
Edit: Ha never mind I figured this out.
Instead of inserting -nm -show_err -mod:bi\ci into the Launch Options, insert -nm -show_err -mod:bi\VI2
This should work for any mod, just put the name of the mod folder in place of "ci"

o.k. i play like denmark on vh/vh and it seem like impossible. after three turns i have 3500 minus, one army totaly broken and the last is not strong. AI ? mercians diplomant say me casefare. i say o.k. and trade rights. in next turn they attack me. i know this was in RTR, in vanilla...
but question: some AI in medieval are good. it´s not possible to do better AI in RTW or BI? i am not good at scripting, therefore i asked.
but nothing changing my opinion that it´s very nice mod.
It is probable that the Danes may require a little boost - but we want to keep it so they really rely upon different tactics (raiding/destroying). This is being reviewed.
The AI does that in RTW I'm afraid. Nothing we can do about it. But this was a time of betrayal where Vikings would make a peace and get paid off in gold and then attack the Saxons on their next raid
Orgath- glad you got it working. Yep, I said it was FATW. You would need to adapt it to the mod you are trying to get to work Thx for feedback.

Whoever just asked if they could use the Hadriens wall model, yes you can as long as you credit (and link) this mod..
No problem..
