How to correctly hide units in trees???

Okay I have a question. I know how to hide units in trees in the battle map, but I need a better way to do it. Cause I just keep putting them near the tree until it works, and somtimes, the unit is right throught a tree and it wont be hidden. And other times, the unit wont even be that close to a tree, and it will be hidden. How do you correctly place your units to hide them??? Place em infront of a tree, in the middle of 2 trees, you know, I want to know how your suppost to do it. THANK YOU!

Some units can hide in tall grass, and some can't hide in trees at all. But they were being really retarded when they put hiding in, so I'm not too sure how that works.

it is my assumption that the more trees there are, the better the chances of hiding. i mean, it seems to make sense that if you try to hide around one tree it won't work but in a forest it would be easy.

I hid an entire unit of spearmen under one tree in a battle the other day. I was hiding half of my units in the trees on the slope of a hill and put the other half on top the hill. There was a lone tree half way up and I thought I'd see if I could hide a whole unit under it, I had to try a few times but it worked. Although exactly why it worked I couldn't work out.

This probably depends on the number of soldiers in your unit and like some said the density of the forest you are in, more trees = more hiding places.

If the forest isin't dense try to put the centrer of your unit's formation near the tree. You can't hide an entire unit if only half of them are standing in the clear

i once had about five trees packed relatively close together and hid ALL of my army cept my general in them
