In this post gatomarine will write his expression too, about the celt and the Saxon’s building.
.
OK, so basically I would like this to be an ideas thread. My understanding of Anglo-Saxon and Celtic infrastructure, culture, society, and architecture is somewhat limited. So, what I am asking is, any one who has good source material or ideas on what would be interesting unique buildings for these factions, let us know about it. This is an open discussion so anyone is welcome to give input/criticism.
The final word will remain with Danova and the rest of the mod team, but any input would be greatly appreciated and would help a ton.
Thanks in advance!
We should make for example couple of hillforts, copying the Kingdom-British campaign fix fort schema. *
That’s what YelüDash’s suggested too. I think the same; it’s a good idea to make couple of famous hillforts.
But I have no idea, how we can make the hillforts’s model… Impossible
.
You can build that tree fort using the current MTW2 technology.
Witan
Witan (more properly the title of its members) was a political institution in Anglo-Saxon England. "meeting of wise men." The Witenagemot functioned as a national assembly whose primary function was advisory to the king and whose membership was composed of the most important noblemen in England, both ecclesiastic and secular.
In England, by the 7th century, these ancient folkmoots had developed into convocations of the land's most powerful and important people, including ealdormen, thegns, and senior clergy, to discuss matters of both national and local importance. Witans would advise on the administration and organization of the kingdom, dealing with issues such as taxation, jurisprudence and both internal and external security.

Stone circle (restoration)
The restoration of a ancient stone circle. Such a monument is not always precisely circular and often forms an ellipse, or a setting of four stones laid on an arc of a circle. The number of stones can vary between four and 60 purposely erected standing stones, and often contain burial pits or chambers.

I really the love the level of stylism and graphical quality in everything you guys do. I must point out though that even if you're going for a slightly less realistic/stylised interpretation of history, being able to build Stone Circles and other megaliths is a little much: not only were the Welsh, Irish and the other "Celts" Christian in this period, but Stone Circles are ancient. Celtic influences first entered the British Isles around 400BC at the earliest... Stonehenge was erected around 2500BC.
I have a suggestion for a building (or rather, a line of buildings) for the Celts and the Irish in particular: Monasteries. There were monasteries everywhere obviously, but they were particularly influential in the Celtic Christian model, where Abbots effectively outranked Bishops in many ways. They were particularly important in Ireland because in that case they were really the first urban settlements, Ireland never having been Romanized. I think they would work best as a series of buildings: the most basic giving only a little bonus to Christianity and order, but with 2 or 3 levels the highest might give many bonuses: Education (work like the Academy/University line in vanilla) Trade (communities of thousands, concentrations of metalworkers and other skilled artisans and exportation of books to the Continent) Happiness (people come from all around to see relics and so on) and even Health (monks had access to the writings of Classical physicians/surgeons like Galen, giving superior medical knowledge compared to Northern European folk medicine)
The most powerful monasteries even maintained private armies for their defense, sometimes intervening in wars or even (on very rare occassions) actually fighting other monasteries.
Of course, the greatest and most famous would be extremely rare, and not something you could order constructed all over the place. There are many ways monastic communities could be depicted, really, but they are a very important element for this culture. They also have a few fairly distinctive architectural elements (eg. round tower, celtic high cross) which might serve you well graphic-wise.

Thanks Antagonist!!!
1. I improved the building to a renovation! (Stone Circle, big temptation... )
2. Monasteries. Very good idea! Thanks!
Would helping us be your mood? For example to write the Monasterie description?

Monastery
Monastery, a term derived from the Greek word μοναστήριον, denotes the building, or complex of buildings, that houses a room reserved for prayer (e.g. an oratory) as well as the domestic quarters and workplace(s) of monastics, whether monks or nuns, and whether living in community or alone.
Focused on interacting with the local communities in order to provide some service, such as teaching, medical care, or evangelism. Some monastic communties are only occupied seasonally, depending both on the traditions involved and the local weather, and people may be part of a monastic community for periods ranging from a few days at a time to almost an entire lifetime.
The life within the walls of a monastery may be supported in several ways: by manufacturing and selling goods, often agricultural products such as cheese, wine, beer, liquor, and jellies; by donations or alms; by rental or investment incomes; and by funds from other organizations within the religion which in the past has formed the traditional support of Monasteries. However, today Christian Monastics have updated and adapted themselves to modern society by offering computer services, accounting services, management as well as modern hospital administration in addition to running schools, colleges and universities.

i like them very much
wonderful
Yeah, I think so. You could have the palisade be on lower ground, then the earth rises, and the rest of the buildings are on top. You could have winding passages too.
There is in fact a historical battle in vanilla MTW2 which looks a lot like a hill-fort, forgot what it's called.
