All info about Swiss faction you can post here... everyone who post here something interesting will give from me +rep
I suggest that you make the Swiss Confederacy almost completely unique unit wise. Here is the list that we are using in XIV Century Total War...
Cavalry
-Mounted Arquebusiers
-Mounted Crossbowmen
-Swiss Sabel Kavallerie: Light cavalry armed with sabers, they make excellent raiders.
-Swiss Montieri Halbarde: Swiss Cavalry was basically mounted infantry, and used weapons that infantry did.
Infantry
-Swiss Pikemen
-Armoured Swiss Pikemen
-Swiss Halbediers
-Armoured Swiss Halbediers
-Swiss Reislaufer: Elite Swiss Pikemen the best Pikemen in the game
-Swiss Zweihander: The same as the German unit, but with Swiss uniform.
-Swiss Gassenhauers: Light infantry armed with various swords and hatchets. They would charge between enemy pikes, and slaughter them in hand to hand combat.
-Swiss Wachtposten: Swiss guardsmen that accompany important generals in battles, they should use large decorative Halberds.
Shooters
-Swiss Archers: The Swiss were one of the last European peoples to drop their archers and use guns, and used the bow well up into the 1600's.
-Swiss Crossbowmen
-Armoured Swiss Crossbowmen
-Swiss Gens de Trait: Up untill the end if the 1500's the Swiss refused to use guns, when they did it was in the form of a small unit called the Gens de Trait, or Shooting Men
Swiss Hakenbuchse: The Swiss version of the Arquebusier, but they aren't quite as modern as some other versions.
You can do some changing to the list to make it suit your mod more
very nice list has a lot in common with the list i once made for renaissance total war... thought it was never used... i really hope we will see some swiss soldiers that represent the strenght they had in this time.
I take it you are from Switzerland then, if not you must have Swiss heritage Glad to see someone else appreciates the true warriors of the Medieval Age
yeah... i once read in a historical journal that the swiss soldiers were like bears and feared the most all around the world at this time ... makes me proud having such blood running through my veins
Who in there right mind wouldn't fear them? The Swiss could have ruled all if they wanted to!
Have you ever been to Switzerland? Sadly I never have.
i am from switzerland. a true native and i have travelled many countries but still i think the mountains of switzerland are the most beautiful landscape ever
Well I have Swiss ancestry, but sadly like I said before I have never even been to Switzerland.

and also thx for this great info +rep , I see you have knowledge but you don't know much English well you can try to share your knowledge in German language if you want to
Btw some of your links are high renneisance, but our mod is focused on years 1301-1453 so Iam sad but no late renneisance units
Thanks for the friendly greeting.
The Swiss were very conservative, so has not much changed until the Renaissance, down to the clothes.
In the beginning, the Swiss were still fighting without armor. Later, they used stolen armor of knights. The favorite weapon of the Swiss is the Halberd. The list of Jaguar6 is very good. However Reisläufer are warriors of all types of weapons.Reisläufer = Mercenaries. But there were certainly also offers classical knight in Switzerland. They often fought between the phalanx. The Swiss were often dressed in tight clothes, so that nothing got impede in the phalanx.
The Swiss fought in the phalanx, they combined Pikemen / Halbediers / two-handed sword and shooters. They pursued an aggressive tactic pounced on their foes
Armor
Immobility rather weak armor for legs. Good upper body armor. Open helmet or beret with feathers.
I hope you understand what I mean
