    Hate to break it to you but 4GB of RAM won't make too much of a difference when it comes to massive battles...

    I have pretty much identical parts...my Q6600 is at 3.2ghz. I also have the 8800GT, along with 4GB of RAM.

    A 1680x1050 resolution, on Huge unit settings (with high detail) I get lag.

    I suppose, if you droppped the quality way down you'll be able to do it - is that your plan?

    If I am remembering correctly, I thought someone reskinned battle castles, etc... to speed up the game. I can't remember who it was.

    go into export_descr_unit in the med2 mod folder/SicilianVespers/data

    for each unit find the line: soldier Southern_Peasants, 60, 0, 0.7. the southern peasants will change depending on what unit you are looking at. the 60 is the unit multiplier. just change that to a higher number. btw
    stat_pri 1, 0, no, 0, 0, melee, melee_simple, piercing, spear, 25, 0.6 <-- thats for editing attack and charge. the other numbers dont need to be bothered.
    stat_pri_armour 1, 1, 0, flesh <-- is armor,shield, and skill defense.

    you will have to do this like 50000 times but its the only way i know of editing the unit counts

    . just change that to a higher number. btw

    Watch it !!
    you can put max numder of 100
    so you type 100 in the game that will be 250
    50 = 125

    it has a multiplyer of 2,5
    If you are interested :
    I modded sicilian vesper to play with huge armies (250 units
    only copy and replace the DCU file
