Default Progress of AoD2 - renovatio imperii -

I kinda want to play a Justinian mod, and no one's posted here since August 23rd.

    You guys still goin'?

    Game of the Fates
Mod of the week on hold -- I've played nearly every RTW mod out there.
BOYCOTT THE USE OF SMILEYS! (Okay, just once)
Antiochos VII...last true scion of the Seleucid dynasty...rest in peace, son of Hellas.
I've returned--please forgive my long absence.

In the internal dev forum is a lot of action. So don't worry. The mod will come!

We have also a good man in the team who fix the last map-issues.
The map in general is finished. A phantastic new map, based on historical facts of the early medieval, and an absolutely new view. This will be a surprise for everybody.
New faction icons, loading screens, ancillaries etc are in work.
We have a music maker who makes music exclusively for Ages of darkness - renovatio imperii -
(slow and melancholic ;-) you will feel the dark ages

I have only a big problem, and that's the reason why a new preview needs more time:
I had 2 unit-makers in my team. Well, obviously both of them were not able to help.
That means I really need 1 or (better) 2 or 3 guys who can help with the creation of new roman units.
The User Agraes, the mod-leader of Arthurian -TW said to me that I may use his units concerning the northern factions (Saxons, Britons etc) . Becasue the time-frame is matching AoD2. Here I have also the problem that I don't have a guy who can help me with the unit-transfer from Arthurian to AoD2.
The same for some troops of IBFD.

    This is the situation atm.

If somebody would help me with the units we can perhaps finish the mod in few weeks.

I`m not offering, but what do you mean with "unit-transfer"? Someone to copy the .tga.dds and .cas files into your build and implement them in the text files? In other words a codder?! If you don`t have that then how is the mod progressing?

to mod a game you need much more people than only some coders, Florin08
Perhaps this is a new info for you. However, I hope we (Legio and me) answered your funny question.

The question was one of common sense. I was honestly amazed. By the fact that someone thinks he can make a mod without a codder. Nothing funny about it. Why, the first thing one needs is a person who can edit the text files. Graphics, music etc, without someone able to implement them are simply not gonna be used in the game. Besides, a codder is also the person that knows what can and what can`t be done with this game. So you really need one if the mod is not already completed by Arbaces. I`m just sharing some experience with you. And if you want I`ll link you to an old guide I did for "transferring units" from one mod to another.
The morale here being that there`s no point to be arrogant. Try to be polite instead and you might get something in return that you can use.

Florin, I think nobody needs your help after so much arrogant posts from your side.
And Pompeius is experienced enough with cooding, anyway, he needs a "second hand" because the mod started from "zero".
There was nothing prepared by Arbaces.
    PM took only the name
And even this name is enlarged to - renovatio imperii -

It seems that you are really uninformed.

If the fellow knew how to cod he should have said it in the first reply. That`s what I was asking. As for help I`m sorry, anything else than advices I don`t have time for. That`s why I`ve started my post with "I`m not offering" so as not to create false hopes. And don`t get edgy for so small things. You`ll lose more time with these kind of replies than with the actual project and nothing to gain from them. I wish you best of luck with the mod!

about the units do you have all of them or that "someone" need to install the other mods which have all the units and put them into this mod which involves copy pasting editing txt files etc.. if you have all the models and units i can help you but if youd dont that would be another story

Thanks Coni for the kind words.
In fact it is true, we started at level "zero"

We get some "new" units from Arbaces, however, even those units are made esp. for the typically late antique from the 3rd to the early 5th century. Means, we can't use that stuff. Some items from Arbaces were fragmented and partially not usable, other items are usable, however, they don't match my concept. And as new mod leader I decided to start at level "zero".

    Anyway
We have a fast growing (and hard-working) team and we will make a promising mod with one of the best strat-maps you ever saw.

my personal plan is to finsh this project this year. Perhaps in December. But it's impossible to give an exact day.
Due to my private situation (my wife and I we have a small baby) I can't mod now for several years. I don't have a lot of time next year. At least this is a fact.
