This question bothered us (CBUR)too...The discision will be dificult to take...:hmmm:
TGC in order to continue its development seak one or more desicated scripters to put our campaign scripts mess to an order plus to create new events and create the finall missing factions recruitment system. In return TGC will give permision to those that will help to use its material stepe by step. The result will be a fully released TGC plus many mods that will benefit TGC's material.
Despite the mod is dead does not mean that anyone can use its material
    read this to avoid misunderstandings.

IWTE tool master and world txt one like this, needed inorder to release TGC 1.0 official to help TWC to survive.
Adding MARKA HORSES in your mod and create new varietions of them. Tutorial RESTORED.

It should be done by precedent. If we are doing, for example, Anglicized names for Hungary, then it should also be done for Byzantium. But if it is not done for most factions, then it should not be done for Byzantium.

    In my oppinion - English
For me as non-greek speaker it's very difficult to remember those unit names. The situation was same with Shogun TW. All unit names was in japanese(with eglish letters), and I was able to distinguish them only by unit cards.
I hope greek friends will not be offended.

    EDIT: Aaaaa you mean person's names - officer's, general's, royal family's ...names?

Greek, just make the names onomasticaly and historicaly accurate, I can't stand those Tobromeros, Pelekanos and other guys from vanilla, those are not Greek names. And surnames are even worse, Prvovencani is not Greek surname, it's not even a surname at all, it's humiliating to see some merchant with ''surname'' Prvovencani, fix that please. What's necessary number of names required by game engine? We should make a list with historucally accurate and transliterated Greek names from the Byzantine period.

English would be the best, why Greek? They became falling empire with small mercenary army.
So the real questione should be; everything in english or everything in factions native language.

    Maybe Latinized Greek???

    Example:

    Makrembolitissa.
    Kalaphates.
    Komnenus.
    Psellos.
    Palaiologos.
    Kantakuzenous.

Sort of, authentic Latinized Greek is that makes sense...
ie: not Comnenus, Calaphates or Macrembolitissa ect cet ect..

If its gonna be in the native tongue, then all factions should have it that way.. or else it wouldnt seem right and fair.. So i voted for english

As all other factions names, if all other factions are named in English than name it in English, if all other factions are named in their language, than name it is Greek...

I voted for English since I presume all other factions will be named in English...
