    Icon14 Base map

    Use this map to make yours easily. Just extract the map, select the area you want and scale it to the size you want.

    BE CAREFUL: when you are scaling the picture in GIMP; select Interpolation, None (fastest) then click Scale. In Photoshop this option is called Nearest Neighbor. If you don't do this the colors would be changed; and it is very difficult to restore them by hand.

    Once you zoom in it gets pretty chunky. Don't think it is helpful with smaller maps. Rivers would have been a plus.

    When I save it the colours still get merged... I've tried using Interpolation none (my version [2.4.7] doesn't say 'fastest') but it still happens when I add any colours. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
