Barbarian Invasion: A Barbarian Invasion Tournament!

At this time, Rome is hurting. Barbarians are attacking from almost every direction, and armies threaten virtually every city. Enter you. General/Emperor/All around badass. Now is your chance to make your mark on (virtual) history by destroying all between you and your (virtual) plunder.

As Rome is in a sorry state, and many of the Barbarians are plagued by years on the run, there is a distinct lack of quality training and equipment. Hence, no upgrades for your units. They must stand or fall on their commander's skill, not their own.

Special Rules
No upgrades (experience, armor, attack)
4 max of the same unit
No more than 6 Horse Archers
No corner camping

Prippet Marshes, summer
Large Unit Size


Format
There will be a round-robin phase at the beginning, where each opponent will fight each other opponent. At the end of this, the top 4 will face each other to determine their standing.

HOWEVER, to keep the focus from being solely on winning or losing matches, there is a catch. Everyone is eligible for the following:

Achilles' Spear: Most overwhelming offense.
Achilles' Shield: Best counterattack.

Remember, you need not win your battle to win these, though it probably helps. Anyone who thinks they have executed one of these should save a replay and send it to me. (Just 1 replay though, so make it your best).

Sorry I missed this sweet tourney. I got home around 4:30pm EST; I saw you guys in a game so I decided to play some friendly games in the other room.

It was an interesting tournament because none of us had played serious Barbarian Invasion before. I got 5 hard battles out of it play as Eastern Rome, most of them very close indeed, and it was jolly satisfying. Well done everyone.
