    Default Spartan Family Tree

I'm currently playing a Lakedaimon campaign and was wondering why the Eurypontid king (faction heir in the game) doesn't appear on my family tree?

Strange thing friend, never happened to me :hmmm:.I believe the best thing you will have to do is to select another faction heir,to prevent future gameplay or ctd problems

Hmm I intended to fix that but apparently skipped it. I'll put it on the list of changes for the next version

I could be wrong here, but I believe it was the Eurypontid kings that caused most of Sparta's troubles in the later years.

And I won't let anyone jeopardize things now that I've taken Lakedaimon to almost complete domination of Greece and southern Italy. First I finish off Taras, then I snuff out Makedonia with Leonidas the Conqueror in Greece, then a large, powerful white monster called the Ionians...

Heed warning...this is not the weakened Sparta of a later era, that reeled under the weight of a changing world. We are the unopposed masters of Hellas.
We control all of Sicilia and your capital of Taras already flies the crimson banner of Sparta, and what little land you still hold will soon fall under Spartan rule.
Perhaps your people should simply accept the inevitability of Sparta's imminent victory and resign your greatest warriors to the left wing of our ranks rather than your own graveyards...?

The high court of Persia has ruled that the Spartan family tree will be changed in the next version, as it's a likely cause of some campaign ctd far into the campaign. Will keep you updated

I don't know anything about that, but Sparta invented the one thing that has remained the same to this day....

    Western military discipline!

Are there two spartan family trees in the game ?
Iīve read this in the suggestion thread and there was written, that you can only see one of the trees - the actual faction holder.

I have now a question about this:
At the gamestart the faction heir is from the eurypontid family.
But he is the only family member from them, that i can see on the map.
Are there other family members from the eurypontids ?

I have set Leonidas (from the agiads) as the new heir, now i canīt set this back and canīt make the eurypontid general the heir again.
You can only set a heir from the persons you see in the family tree page - or is there another possibility to set an heir ?

Spartan 198, Sparta did do discipline but Rome where the ones all about that stuff. That's why they beat EVERYBODY YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I mean what about decimation, crucifixion and being beaten with a vine stick. That would suck.

If not for lessons learned from the Spartans, there may never have been any Roman legions at all. Without roots a tree can't grow, and the Romans are just a branch on a tree rooted by the Spartans.

I guess we're in a similar boat, because I fear I'll never understand why academic interest in Sparta is always termed as some sort of blind religious-like devotion when that isn't necessarily the case.

And without the lessons from the Carians there would never be spartan hoplites. And the Carians adopted their warfare from ancient near east armies used by Assyria (that was really succesful military discipline ) and Babylon.
