SPECIALIST TEAM TOURNAMENT (#1)

By the power invested in me by Jupiter I institute the first TWC Specialist Team Tournament.

Contestants will enter a team of 2 to fight 2 v 2 matches. I will assign the battles to be fought and the results will be posted here in this thread.

What we want to see here are TEAM TACTICS. Remember that it is the team that wins, not individual players, so there is no reason to hold out on your partner - sacrifice all for the greater victory.

To make it more interesting still, I intend for each of these Team Tournaments (if this one is successful there will be more) to have an unusual theme to pose a different kind of challenge.

Knights of the Old Republic - The Tournament is Completed



Italy is in chaos. The genius of Gaius Marius is yet to be discovered and Roman armies still fight in the Consular style - but traitors have emerged and each faction is convinced that they alone are the natural saviours of the Republic.

Who will lead the way for Rome to find its destiny?

The ever-popular Julii, beloved of the Mob?

The enterprising Scipii, favoured by the merchant-class?

The proud Brutii, champions of the rights of the aristocracy?

Or will the conservative Senate enforce the status quo?

YOU will decide - as a TEAM.

After 4 teams have signed up I will post a list of all the battles to be fought and it will be up to the teams to arrange the times by PM and Xfire, then post the results.

If there is a need for further battles to decide ties, I will assign them.

In the best traditions of Roman politics, after one faction has attained supremacy the two team members of that faction will then betray each other and fight a 1v1 match to decide who will become Consul for Life. When this happens one of you will play as the original faction and the other will be the Senate (or if it is the Senate that has won then a family of your choice).

After each match one of you should save the replay and e-mail it to me (unsightly@aol.com).

Rules:

Game: RTW (Version 1.5).
Match: 2 v 2.
Unit size: Large.
Map: Italian Lowland.
Season: Summer.
Weather: Random.
Time Limit: None
Team Denarii: 20,000 (i.e. 10,000 each)

Unit Restrictions:
Pre-Marian Roman units only.
Max. 1 x Gladiators.
Max. 1 x Roman General.

Other rules:
No use of the red border for defence.
If a match fails due to a broken connection the failing team will forfeit, unless the other team is willing to refight the match.

This isn't a fixed-time tournament - the teams sign up and then they fight each other, and the results are posted. It works more like KoTH than one of Prince of Macedon's tournaments.

What time zones are you in? Knowing these things will make it easier for people to organise battles with you. Remember that you're going to need 4 people to get together at the same time, not 2 as in normal match.es
