ram or graphic card?

hi im just wondering if i shud get more ram or a better graphic card to smoothen out my game performance for R:tw and CS:S

my current specs are

2400+ Amd Athlon
256 RAm
G-force4 MX-400


any help would be appreciated

RAM must be a priority there. Get another 512mb, but RAM is cheap so just get enough to make 1024mb and you'll be set. The Graphics card isn't the worst available, but an upgrade to a 9600XT or 9800PRO wouldn't go a miss. I would upgrade RAM right now though.

yes get at least 1 GB, you have too little. IF your running XP, most of your ram of the 256 is chocked already.

RAM. And you could get an old 64Mb Geforce 2 Ti that will still spank your current card for less than $50. I have another PC that I LAN with sometimes that has one. And it runs R:TW QUITE well.

Look around on Pricewatch. You might be able to hook yourself up with a little of both.

I had that exact card and no problems unless i would try to over-do it. But I also have 1GB ram so....

rite now 256 and i got $200 CAN to spend........ my god-father could hook me up with 1gig ram cheaper.... since hes my connection :w00t :grin :lol

That's how MUCH you have, not how fast it is. Check the pinned Overclocking guide for info on RAM speeds.
i.e.-PC2100, PC2700, PC3200, etc...
Depending on your RAM speeds, you might be OK with a minimum 512Mb and have enough for a graphics card too.

AHHHHH looks complicated since i am 1337 n000ber at comps.... at least i know the Bios and set up stuf..... but the pc2700 and etc etc.... i just do not get it AT ALL :mellow

You have to host them on a picture server and post links.
I don&#39;t know what sites offer it. A bunch of people here use it. My ISP offers 250Mb of online storage, so I don&#39;t need it, but lemme find a link...hang on.

I say RAM. If your on 512, and upg to 1GB you wil lfeel the difference, a lot of difference. Graphics card ins&#39;t that much for strategy games as models are low poly, but if you play RTS, graphics card is more important.
