I'm pretty sure the Term "Khan" wasn't introduced until after the Avars invaded, so would the Alans even be a Caganate?

The one who started the thread of this post, arguing that there was a kind of "Caganate" not only made an aberration with the original term (in any case, it would be Qaghanate), but also intended to establish and attach a title that was only present In the western steppes, from the sixth century AD, in the hands of the avars and never in the hands of the alans. It seems crazy to me.
