This thread is for those, who like making interesting screenshots. If there are many entries we may compare them and choose one winner. As unexperienced screenshooter I can propose two shots:

There are screenshot competitions over at the org which are pretty popular. http://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=104625
Your shots are pretty good, I like the first one, but they would be much better with minimal UI.

I know about that competition, but I just use this forum only and thought there are other EB fans like me. If necessary, close this thread...

I wasn't suggesting that you shouldn't have a similar thread here, I simply wasn't aware you knew of the thread at the org. No need to close this thread, I'm sure somebody else has some nice screenshots.

Before taking a screenshot you should hit "enter" to de-select all units, that makes the white arrow disappear. You should also place the mouse outside the main pic and cut out the UI with a graphics tool.

BTW, what was going on in those battles? The minimap on the first picture looks like a full Legion run away from an empty town. The second battles seems as 7 units are attacking a single unite of Epeirote Akontistai - and suffering quite badly doing so.

You can also remove elements of the (minimal) UI by pressing F5, F6 and F7.

The first one is unsuccessful siege The second one - a pursuit of the Epeirote enemy. If there is interest and other on topic posts I promise, I will make better screens like it has to be... 10x for the advices.

    • Are those new trees? Do you have in mind to share your minimod to the community?

i can't share my "mini" mod with the comunity as i dont have permition to release many of the stuff as a separate mod.
The trees you are mentioning come from an old mod called Blue Lotus. that left us a problem as Blue lotus, back in the day, didnt have the models on the mod(or at least i never found them), only bringing the vegetation.db and the textures and sprites. I believe Batles of Asia have the needed models needed to regenerate the vegetation.db file, but without the permition from hoggy, i dont belive you can get to share it as a separate mod from Blue lotus.
But if you are interested in creating your own build, i can tell you what im using right now.
    i use separated by files
    -DMB/EDU
    -early centurions from casus belli
-Legio Italica Cohors from 58 BC mod to replace cohors reformata model
-Legio Italica Cohors Centurion from 58 BC mod to replace post marian
    centurion
-several troops from Ancient Empires v1.0(who has the best models for italian people in the comunity right now) in Itally, adding the old Socii back to my EB. Now i got Umbrians, Samnite, Brutii, lucan, etrurian, campanians, and other people in itally, recruitable in the polybian times, much the allied legions mini mod available, but much more deep, as you get much more variety by getting to recruit regional hastatis and principes in their original areas.
-Eagle standard bearers from res gestae
-indian elephants(normal and armored) from Res gestae v2
-all the Mauryan Infantary from Res gestae v2 added as regional units
-the 2 indian chariots from RG2
    -seleucid chariots from Resgestae v2
    -Several Hoplite units from ITW

    Vegetation/grass.txt
    -vegetation from casus belli
    -Vegetation from Napoleonic total war
    -Grass from Resgestae
    -Grass from Casus belli

    Textures/models
    -bridges from casus belli
-Tree Canoppy files from RTR- TIC
    - siege equipment textures from res gestae
    -ground textures from Casus belli
    -Ground textures from NTW2

on the to do list i got :
-Add several iberian units from Iberian total war, such as asturian units, cantabrian ones, some more to the south too.
-add several sarmatian ans scythian units
-Change the horses in EB, for more detailed and pretty horses, as presente in ITW, Casus Belli, Res Gestae v2, and Blue Lotus
and anything i remember along the way=P
-put some celtic love into the game too, those chumps also need love=P

anyways i wouldnt release them, as its not my model.

Well, I always take screenshots in most games I play, but I hardly ever go look at them. . . I went in to my RTW\tgas folder just now to see if I had any good EB ones and found that all of the image files are just a pure black screen. I will attempt to get a few in the future though, using Fraps or something. But... in the meantime, anybody know why this would be? :\

@Dwringer - it's usualy because of Anti aliasing turned on. Try to turn it off and see if it works. Nice barbeque picture Pontifex!
