Thread: Pirates of the Carribbean: Total War

Default Pirates of the Carribbean: Total War

Think of the potential of sea-battles...
An all out scurvy naval fued between Jack Sparrow and Barbossa
    ..Or any other pirate lord..
Raiding and pilliaging small villiages along the coast...
    Any thoughts about this mod?

    Pointless?

It'd be the exact same... just with Pirates - and these are probably already included in the game. =/

Unless you're planning to involve undead and somehow the Kraken I don't see any major differences.

Just having pirates in general, historical events about them, and being able to play as them would be great.

But also the character out of POTC, and also the Kraken, fish-people and the undead pirates.

I love the idea of pirates, but not based on that horrible movie.

The mod (or expansion) should center on the mid/late 1700-hundreds when the golden days of the pirates was nearly over. Location: a random island group (possibly around Cuba). There should be four factions available: France, England, Pirates and Native American rebels hiding in the inland jungles of the islands. The mission of France and England is to root out the pirate strongholds on the islands and regain control of the sea shipping lanes (there is competition between france and england too). The goal of the outgunned pirates is simply to survive and make sure that their business can continue uninterupted.

It is important for the pirates to be able to benefit from the tensions between france and england, perhaps even trigger a war between the two nations.

Not a bad idea, but don't you think Spain should be included as well? They still had a huge prescence in this area, more so than the other 2 nations.

Yes, of course the spanish should be represented, also perhaps Portugal, depending on where in caribbean sea we are, and in what age the mod/expansion takes place.

Maybe this should become a new thread, about 1700 hundreds pirates.

And no-one likes it because no-one has a sense of humor, you all need to have a little bit of leeway, not everything has to be historically based/accurate...

Far from it, a rather silly blockbuster that's all.

Great idea, but it's chances of success are 0.01%, pirates are already in the game and jack sparrow isn't really superman.
Reap the promised end to the struggle. Reap every point on our linear path.
Reap the smiles in time we borrow, every harvest relies on the last.
Reap the promising song of the sparrow, that they learned from the birth of sea.
Silenced by the threnody of the crows. Reap the fallen fruit of the dogwood tree.
But I witnessed in all this silence one soul's definition of beauty. and a backlit smile so temporary.
A facade so rich with evil history. Cast in direct opposition set to overwhelm this moment to shine and sleep.
came out on top of what was borrowed, and found all that beauty to be still...

I don't see much wrong with the idea. It doesn't have to be based on the movie, maybe just influenced by it.

The movie was awesome especially if you respect the acting of Johnny Depp.
