Well, considering, Isle of Wight is one of the counties of England, currently under our control, it seems natural that, being south of Britain and close to France, that it be a naval port stronghold. Whomever is lord of it, ofcourse.

Well Sire, May I ask permission for some one to lead the Fleet of Caen?
Only Caen has a Port at this moment my liege.
My Castle has a port and is on the front line. If the French ever send a mass army our way we would need reinforcements or a retreat option. having a fleet in Caen will defend our trade and would strengthen our military in France.
I would accept any one who has not a feif or job working at a feif.

I propose that we have a sizable fleet permenantly stationed between Caen and, say, London, for the explicit purpose of transporting troops and agents across the Channel. What say ye?

"I agree, Sir William, establishing a strong naval presence to guard the supply and transport lines to Normandy from Mainland England and back would be essential in supplying England in it's war against the Scots and other rebels on the island. As well, we will need to transport troops to protect Normandy in the even of an invasion.
