Always CTD when calcing a certain battle with the Sassanids

I always get a CTD when calculating (and winning) a certain battle against the Sassanids.
That is no big deal because I can just not fight that battle, but I still wonder.

It seems as the Sassanid leader and heir are in that army.
Could it be that the game can't cope with all of the sassanid empire turning to rebels?
That would'nt even surprise me. : )

Just wondered why that would happen.

Are you saying you get a CTD after an auto resolve battle?

Yes.
Every time. I click calc, I get the message that I win, and then the game ends without error message.

I can just not attack there.

Well, it might have been a strange fluke.
But I reloaded three times and it crashed exactly the same way every time.

My guess is that the Sassanids remaining family members were in those armies,
and by killing them you turn the whole Sassanid empire into rebels.
If I remember right, cities turning to rebels was always crashy business.

you are probably right, there are some issues with cities turning rebel which hopefully will be fixed.

I get it again in an completely other campaign now.
The game just ends errorless, I think it has to do with killing a certain sassanid general.
It does not crash in the same battle as long as I don't kill the guy. I think the generals name was Fariel.

I noticed that there are sassanid generals that are complete duplicates of each others.
I don't know if they are family members or generals but they have the same name, traits and ancillaries.
Could it have something to do with this?

Hmm,:hmmm: I think so as I have come across this problem before. I have always got around it by having the evil twin killed off.

But I would like to know why this happens. It may be a trait issue. I would certainly appreciate some help on this one by anyone.

Well killing them is what causes the crash.
Or do you mean that killing both of the duplicate generals at once causes the ctd, and not if it's one at a time?

How can I help?
Should I screenshot something or post a savedgame?
I looked, there are no sassanid duplicate generals in descr_strat.
So this really seems to be a bug.
If I can't kill some of their generals, and always have to go around them,
the fight against the sassanids will be hard.

If I ever get a rock band, I'm gonna call them that: The Sassanid duplicate generals.

No, I mean just killing off the duplicate, and yes a screen shot would be good. Beatoangelico may be able to help here.

Well, this guy was the one where killing him ctd's.
Now it even crashes when I just view him.

You mean I have to assasinate one of them?

But there doesn't even seem to be any duplicate generals.

And this guy crashes, I think. The one below the city.

Strange! It seems now that my own family members cause the crash?!
Just clicking on them will end the game.

This makes it unplayable.
Where does this error suddenly come from?

Hmm, I think this is a trait error or trait bug. I don't know whether it is a random issue or a fault with the file. I'll have a look.

What kind of bug could cause this crash?
This is so strange!
I played for days without trouble!

Any idea wht this migth be?

Now everything crashes! It has nothing to do wih the sassanids.
Just clicking on cities in britain will cause a ctd.
I did the good old reinstall. But still. Even playing new campaigns as the saxons and visigoths crashes.
It's not when loading, upon hitting end turn, or in a certain year.
Just in the middle of my turn, clicking on an army, a settlement, or in another factions turn.

This is so strange.
I played many hours and hundreds of battles without this problem.
And suddenly, out of nowhere, I can't get past turn three as any faction, even with a fresh install.
It just crashes randomly on the campaign map or in battles.
But just in the middle of things. Not when loading, or hitting end turn.
Like it usually does.

Oh dear, I hate this when this happens. I assume you have completely uninstalled RTW/BI from your computer and reinstalled everything again. The fact that you have had no problems until now indicates to me that it is a random bug.

I'm sorry if I can't add anything else at the moment as I am at a loss too.

If anybody else can shine a light on this we would all be trult greatful.
