OK then, seems good. Looks like you will be our "spokesman" to the German modding community then! Kallum, Icedie and I will have to lurk around quietly in the background until we get an English forum...

Oh by the way, have you made contact with the Reconquista team yet?

And thanks for the map Vespasian68!

It's on wiki. I was saying though, for this mod, that that country could not be called Foirtriú, but alba instead.

Another think was dublin in the vikings hand? i think so, and aso how do we solve the issue that england was conquered by the danes in 1013 by Sven Forkbeard?
do we make and event ? so some emergen units can popup in engaland in certain years.
Dubh Linn was certainly in the possession of Vikings by 900. I'm not sure one could represent it as being under any unified authority with the other viking groups however. Dubh Linn though was very much associated with York, with man, and with the Western Isles (Innse Gall). If there was a separate faction of Vikings for that, it would make sense.

Perhaps. Or one could leave all these areas with Strong Viking rebels and turn them into viking aors.

What timeframe will this mod cover? I could make a little overview with the most important events that took place in this time and maybe one could add some scripted events to the mod if that's possible.

Ok, that's good. I'll start creating a list of events from 1000 to 1079 now and later i'll ask adorno how to incorporate them into the game.

I did a faction description for the Romans just then, what does everyone think? Honest opinions please!

    The Roman Empire

It has now been nearly six hundred years since Constantine the Great moved the seat of the Roman Empire to Constantinople, and in those centuries, the world has changed beyond recognition. Yet Constantinople, the last bastion of the ancient Roman world of great cities remained inviolate. When the Huns terrorized the west, when the Saracens snatched away half the Mediterranean, when the Carolingians rose and fell, the Romans of Constantinople watched and learned. The fires of the last great civilisation of the ancient world continue to burn brightly on the Second Rome.

That is not to say the Empire has not had troubles. Until the seventh century, the Mediterranean remained a Roman lake, despite the loss of Gaul, Iberia and Britain, the Imperial garrisons retained much of Italy, north Africa, and, more importantly; the East. In 627, the Romans finally defeated their great rival; Persia, and seemed ready to enjoy a new golden age of Christian Empire. Sadly, it was not to be.

Five years later, the armies of Islam burst out of the desert. Province after province was lost; Syria, Palestine, Egypt, Cyprus, Africa and Hispania all fell swiftly to the invaders. Even when the Romans defeated the invaders before the walls of Constantinople herself the Saracens were not stopped, Crete, Sardinia and Sicily have all been lost in the past century.

Yet, finally, the Romans are beginning to show signs of recovery. A new dynasty sits on the Imperial throne; the Macedonians, and with them, the empire is on the road to recovery. The Abbasid Caliphate was crushed at the Battle of Poson, and the Lombards have been defeated in Italy. True, the Basileus Leo VI still faces many challenges; his immediate neighbour Bulgaria is at her peak under the great Tsar Symeon, and it would be foolish to expect the great Muslim empires to the east to lie down and submit to a Roman reconquest. But, with strength and determination, there is no reason why the Romans should not restore much of their former glory. The tide is turning; and the Roman Empire is about to strike back.

I think we should still have one, yes, as about half the team is now German. I think we should have the modrealms forum as the main forum for the mod, and have a German forum as well, to attract new recruits to the team, plus to show our progress to the German community! Even so, could all team members, whether German or not, please join modrealms.
