CTD In middle of Battles

I get a CTD 50% of the time when I kill a general or anytime a popup screen fires. How can I disable them??

Let me elaborate: this happens when a general is killed and it zooms in to see him fall.

I should be more clear. It locks up and CTD's when you kill a general and it zooms in to get the close-up

Try disabling the cut-scenes! It's in the medieval2.cfg file(or the ss.cfg, not sure..)

change the stainless steel .cfg file


[game]
unlimited_men_on_battlefield = 1
event_cutscenes = 1

to:

[game]
unlimited_men_on_battlefield = 1
event_cutscenes = 0

and then save the .cfg file back from whence it came
