Frodo is a correct, even though not very common, Medieval Lombard name.

    Example from Medlands:
The Chronicon Novaliciense names "filius [Magafredi] nomine Frodoinum"

haha! yes, Tolkien was not only a famous author, but also a famous linguist. Many of his names came directly from Medieval sources.

Yep. We have brought (relative) city sizes closer to what they had been in reality by using a complex system to scale them. There are indeed a few "monster cities" like Cordoba and Plaremo on the map, but also a lot of tiny villages.

    Cool!

Unfortunately it seems unlikely that I can stop the de-population. Growth is -3.5% atm, even tho I have two very chivalrious FMs in the city. Population is now 'only' ~270k...

That's intended too: These settlements have a couple of different christian and muslim churchs. Depending on who conquers them, the respective other churches will be destroyed, making these monster settlements lose much of its population when no longer being independent but conquered.

i just installed this mod, and i am having some serious cursor problems that appear unique to this mod - selection of units and point of destination are all very off (several tile spaces, at a minimum). It is not my mouse, i have tried several others, and it is definitely the mod. is this the 'strat model' thing i saw when browsing the faq and install suggestions while i was downloading it?

If this is a known bug with a fix, please direct my attention thus.

    Cheers.

    edit:

Further details: It appears to be dependant on the campaign-view cams oreintation. If the target army or settlement is directly in front, the name is not offset (it swings wide when you move left/right further than the aspect should allow). But you seem to need to click 'slight left' of your target in order to actually click it. I had believed it universally standard that the upper left 'point' of the curser was the selection-point for basically everything and anything ever and forthwith etc - this does not appear to be the case, and in fact the lower right edge of the cursor icon seems to - in some cases, be the point of selection.

This might seem like a minor issue, but its really really really hard to adapt to given decade(s) of use with a different model of selection.

I never came across that problem in dHRR. Can it be something with your screen settings?

one small suggestion about the population.

in rtw the recruiting of units had a direct link to the population. disbanding units raise the population and recruiting decrease it. so the show´n population are only man in conscript - about 16 to 40 years. also, only this citizens pay taxes.

so if a tw-city has got 2000 population - it meen there are also 2.000 woman + about 6.000 children (three per family 0-16) + about 2.000 pensioniers (man and woman). so 2.000 show´n population meen 12.000 real population.

    if there are 350.000 show´n population this meens there are 350.000 man + 350.000 woman + 1.050.000 children + 350.000 pensioniers = 2.100.000 total population

The population in dHRR is meant to represent the true population of this town (not the entire province), scaled down by different factors to fit into the game.

The recruit pools are only inderectly attached to this population size, because Medieval states had no conscript armies and only a small part of the combatants were urban citizens. The system of 0.8 is still a bit wip but a new EDB will come with the next version (0.9) showing that the size of the city in a province only has a very limited effect on the overall possibilities in recruiting units.

The unit selection in 0.8 is a bit dull, and with the end date for 0.9 at 1250 I guess that there won't be any late medieval units like gothic knights etc, but will there be some extra units at least?

I understand that in this period most military units (unlike militia and knightly orders) where levied only temporarily in time of need, and thus it is unlikely that many would have become famous enough to warrant making them a special unit. But there must have been some regions that consistently provided better troops of a certain type than other regions, or knightly orders that had some famous detachment warranting a seperate unit.
Adding just a bit more diversity to the unit selection, and preferably the AOR type of diversity, would increase the appeal of this mod alot, to me at least.

That Jews suffered greatly from 1933-1945 is not in question but the notion of a premeditated, planned, and industrial extermination of Europe's Jews with its iconic gas-chambers and magical six million are all used to make the Holocaust not only special but also sacred. We are faced with a new, secular religion, a false God with astonishing power to command worship. And, like the Crucifixion with its Cross, Resurrection etc, the Holocaust has key and sacred elements—the exterminationist imperative, the gas-chambers and the sacred six million. It is these that comprise the holy Holocaust which Zionists, and others worship and which Ernst and the revisionists refuse.
Nor is this a small matter. If it was, why the fuss, why the witch-hunt, why the imprisonment of David Irving, Germar Rudolf and Ernst Zündel? And it's not just them. What may be a massive lie is being used to oppress pretty much all of humankind. The German and Austrian peoples who, we are told, conceived and perpetrated the slaughter; the Russian, Polish, Ukrainian, peoples etc., etc who supposedly hosted, assisted in and cheered on the slaughter; the Swiss who earned out of the slaughter and the entire Christian world who, it seems, created the faith—traditions and ideologies in which the slaughter could take place—in fact, the Holocaust oppresses the entire non-Jewish world and indeed much of the Jewish world as well. Stand and have done with it. Deny the Holocaust.

0.9 will have a lot more units. Don't forget that in 0.7 most of the units were Vanilla. Even though making new units wasn't our top priority, we were able to replace the majority of the vanilla units. This isn't completed with 0.8 OC.

    hey ilr,

first no - as you can read here at point 4) Notes

and second - the map cover most of western + middle europe (except most parts of scandinavia) and the west half of eastern europe and near east (with holy land but without egypt).

but there´s a new map in progress (which looks amazing!) in version 0.9 as you can see here

Could you please be a bit more precise: Which province? What faction? What character? What are you doing to grant the title?

Default When will version 0.9 be available?

I know, you guys are still working on it and I guess you don't even know exactly when it will be finished, but I'm really looking forward to it and caught myself visiting the forum almost daily to see if there wouldn't be a sudden download link somewhere
So just to take my mind off of it for a while, could you give me a rough estimate on how long it will take before I can play 0.9? Weeks? Months?
By the way, thanks for one of the more interesting mods, and since I live in Aachen I heard with great pleasure that it at last will get the rank it deserves and be the capital of Lower Lorraine! Thank you!!
