I can't install any other mods, can I? I installed RS over my vanilla because of a copying error I encountered. So, I am totally ****ed. Right? This angers me...!!!

No just change your Vanilla file name to Roma Surrectum, explore your disc drive, click setup.exe when it comes up click repair, then you will have one new folder called Rome : Total War < This is new and unmodded : and Roma Surrectum folder, make sure you copy files in future if you want more than one mod, this happened to me before and i figured this out.
Edit : Also this is a good way to copy your games folder if you have errors, Rename it to the mod you wish, then click repair and it makes another copy of Rome : total war, it is also faster this way.

As Martin N has posted the safest way is to keep a 'clean install' of RTW and just keep copying that to another folder to apply a mod to.
Good tip about fixing up a corrupted mod. it may have been mentioned before but I'm not sure - I've never been in a position where I've had to do that.
I think the name of the folder is 'Rome - Total War' and not 'Rome : Total War'.
