You know, I used to LOVE the Thunderbirds when I was a kid. I used to sneak out of bed at 5am to watch it before school. I showed my own son the intro yesterday and he just laughed and said it was stupid LOL.
Yeah, well I've been re-watching both Scarlet and TB recently, and I have to say, I can see why lots of kids would find it goofy and cheesy if they watched it today. I think what I used to like most when I was a kid were the machines, some great designs there. Scarlet had a very cool atmosphere, though.
And Barry Gray did some spectacular work, too.

Why cant every president talk like this

Because then they would all sound like idiots. Those weren't even good insults. Just standard "US iz evulz" kinda speech. Only directed at the president more.
This Pansori gives me goosebumps whenever I watch it. It's an excerpt from the Chunhyang-ga. If enough people ask me, I'll record myself singing part of it and then post it in the "how do you sound" thread.
WHAT IS THAT?!
Miss me yet?
This my friend, is beautiful singing. It's traditional Korean singing called Pansori. An actual performance lasts hours. They tell stories that have been passed down from the old dynastic days. I am pretty sure you can read all about Chunhyang on Wikipedia.
Go Russia!

By the time of that battle, it was about damn time for Russia's ass to get in gear. Since the beginning of the Great Northern War, Russia kept losing to Sweden, despite Russia's superior numbers. Had Russia been able to win earlier, Saxony might not have been screwed over the way it eventually happened. Indeed, the history of Germany might look completely different had Saxony, Denmark, and Russia been able to defeat the Swedish right from the beginning. Just imagine a German unification under Saxon auspices. Just imagine all Germans speaking Saxon German instead of Prussian German.
